Sunday Drive at Golden Hour

Hello, dears!

I’m SO excited to post this photoshoot, because I think it’s one of my favorites ever! The evening was certainly wonderful. ❤ Plus, the lighting was so perfect I didn’t have to edit most of these at all! Definitely a bonus.

Alright, I shall begin with supper. 😉 Last Sunday the weather was so nice that we brought our supper out on the upstairs balcony. It was quite a nice place to eat, especially because of the view.

Since it was such a nice evening, we decided to drive around the farm afterwards. We usually use Dad’s old, custom-built green truck for such things, but it wasn’t working, so we used the newer, red truck. 😉 While I was waiting for everyone to finish supper, I took some pretty golden pictures of the yard. 😛

We have three Crepe Myrtle bushes in the backyard, which I LOVE! Except for the fact that one is kind of dying, but…

Ahh, the LIGHTING!

When everyone was ready, all the kids hopped on the back and Mom and Dad rode up front. For some reason my siblings brought along a stuffed animal monkey puppet as a mascot or something? *shakes head* Weirder things have happened. He doesn’t look much like a monkey in this picture since he’s tucked into the hole… actually he looks quite depressed and hunched over. O.o POOR MONKEY.

Now, let the beautiful farm landscapes begin! 😀

Maggie loves running along with us when we drive around in the truck or the UTV. She can run pretty fast, too – about 20 mph!

Heh heh, kind of blurry… but neat? I’m not sure what that flying thing is beside Maggie. Maybe a dragonfly or something.

Ah, I LOVE this one! I have it for my desktop background, actually.

Look at the cute little rainbow flare! 😀

The nice thing about using the truck was that could drive through weeds taller than the truck bed. Jeff really wanted to come back and bush hog the pasture. (A Bush Hog is kind of like a heavy-duty mower, in case you were wondering.) Jeff loves bush hogging. XD

My younger siblings kept hopping off the truck to run behind it or, in Megan’s case, pick wildflowers. XD We also passed what we thought was a paulownia tree (a weedy tree that has ENORMOUS leaves), but Megan and Jeff tried to pull off some leaves in passing when the truck went by and kept saying “POLYNEEESSIA, POLYNEEESSIA” in strange voices. I think they preferred their pronunciation. *rolls eyes* XD

Ahh, the golden sun streaming down upon… a lovely pile of tires. :[] The previous farm owners used them to stack hay on, but when we cleaned out the shop they had to go somewhere, so… It’s too bad it costs money to dispose of them. :/

Heh heh, as we passed the gas pumps, I told Megan, “I’m going to take an aesthetic picture of the gas tanks!” XD And hey, actually I kind of did! What do you know. I’m pretty sure anything would look pretty with this lighting.

Ahhhhh I love these pictures too! I love the gleaming tassles on the corn.

Gotta love those GPS-straight cornrows! 🙂 Dad uses a GPS program thingy in his tractors to make sure the crops are planted evenly. Isn’t it amazing how much technology has pervaded EVERYTHING? It IS rather handy, though.

I think we should make this shed into a picnic shelter, don’t you agree? Wouldn’t it look lovely with a mini lightbulb garland or two, and a cleared space around it and inside it?

This is the last picture from the photoshoot. We drove on further, but when we turned the corner here it started to get pretty dim, so I didn’t get pictures of it. But ahh… *happy sigh* That was a GREAT evening. I absolutely love exploring the farm with my family! It’s one of my favorite things to do, especially when I have my camera. 😉 I hope you enjoyed exploring along with us!

So tell me, do you have a favorite picture? Does a red truck ride sound fun to you? Have you ever tried to take an aesthetic picture of something ugly? And do my siblings sound a bit strange to you? XD (Don’t worry, they’re great. 😉 )

Thank you so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

P. S. Guess what? I (basically) FINISHED SETTING UP MY ART STUDIO! It looks amazing, and I LOVE using it so far! I hope to post a tour next week sometime, so stay tuned. 😀

    1. AHHH THANK YOU. Heh heh, nope. But actually I was referring to a different pasture, one we didn’t see because it was so overgrown the Mule probably wouldn’t have made it through. OH DEAR, HOW UNFORTUNATE. And ohhhhhh my I wish you were with us too. ❤ You would have loved it! *sigh* One day we shall do it all again. 😀

  6. Ah! Such a warming site of glowing light. I would normally be jealous if it wasn’t the fact that the UK has a heatwave at the moment. Favourite pictures are the first one and the pictures of the corn rows. You take many beautiful pictures.

  7. You know what you should do with all those tires? You should make a huge obstacle course with them! You could also make like a dozen tire swings all around your property! That would be so fun, I think! 🙂

My siblings are pretty crazy too sometimes 😛 My brother once named one of our chickens Furbrowny XD
I guess because he had brown feathers *shrugs* XD

He was so sad because he thought he wouldn’t get to name one of the chicken so I said he could. (he could’ve anyway XD) And that’s what he chose 😛

  9. Whoops, I never commented on this! :[] Well, I shall do so now. 🙂 This was such a great post, Allison! All of the pictures are so beautiful with the soft golden light! ❤ I love taking truck rides with my family – it's so fun and relaxing. 😀
Yes, your siblings do sound strange, but mine are stranger. XD Though I'm probably the strangest one, so who am I to talk. ANYWAYS, I really enjoyed reading about your evening and seeing all of your gorgeous photos! 🙂

  10. For some reason I never commented on this post, but…. these pictures are so pretty! Golden hour is gorgeous. 🙂 I think it is so cool that you have a balcony on your house. It looks so fun, and I agree, the view is pretty. Also, I do like the picture of the gas tank. The lighting does make the photo aesthetic. 😉 To answer your questions, yes, a ride in the back of a pick-up truck is fun to me. My grandma has a red GMC pick-up that I’ve ridden in the back of a few times. 🙂
And yes, I have tried many times to take an aesthetic picture of a less-than aesthetic subject. Half the time (or more) it doesn’t work. XP Your siblings are a little strange, I think, but that’s okay, because they remind me of my siblings in a way (especially CutePolarBear). We’re weird, too. 😉
