Mule Rides & Sunsets

Hello, dears!

Remember when I used to post sunset pictures all the time? I don’t post them as much anymore, for some reason. But today I’m finally back with some more gorgeous sky paintings, as well as photos from a ride around the farm and more pictures of Eeyore, our pet donkey. 😀 I hope you enjoy this summer evening with me!

Okay, so to be honest, I’m not exactly sure when I took these pictures… I think some are from different days, but OH WELL, I’m just going to mash them all up together. 🙂 We’ll start with a view of part of our backyard before the sun set. That old chimney is from an original log house we took down a while ago. We keep thinking we’ll make a patio near it sometime, but it hasn’t happened yet…

Whyyyy does Eeyore always have to hang out by the unphotogenic compost pile? :’D But oh well, I guess the sun through the trees balances it out. 😉

Eeyore wasn’t sure if Dad could be trusted to give her decent food, I guess. She was a little slow to start in on it.

HAHA, donkeys make the weirdest faces. I’m not even sure what this one looks like, but it’s amusing. 😛

Since our grandparents were visiting us for a few days, we toured the farm with them in the Mule (that vehicle below, not Eeyore the donkey XD).

My brother, Jeff, likes to drive us around whenever he can. 😉 Especially when we visit a maze of paths he cleared for us, since he knows where they all lead.

We left as the sun was setting and AHH, THE CLOUDS WERE GORGEOUS.

BEAUTIFUL. I really like the contrast of the sharp lines with the soft clouds here.

A Carmen silhouette. 🙂 I had to do some editing to get her all black, but it worked!

A brief intermission from sunsets for a golden green field. My, this was a while ago. The corn is so much taller now (and the leaves are rolling – ugh, we need rain!).

I think sunsets are such a popular art subject partly because of their bright colors and the way clouds almost look like brushstrokes in real life.

We’ll end with these aesthetic cotton-candy clouds. I don’t usually care for purple and pink together, but when they’re in sunsets, it’s perfect. ❤ ❤

Ahh, sunsets are one of my favorite things. It’s amazing to me how varied the sky can be – seriously, what else in nature can be blue, gray, black, pink, purple, yellow, or all of the above at different times? I’m so glad God gave us such a majestic illustration of his glory at the end of every day.

  1. AHHHHH PRETTY. And oh dear, you need rain? You always need rain in the summertime, and then y’all practically drown in the fall/winter. *shakes head* AHH, MULE RIDES. So nostalgic. I MISS YOU GUYS.

  18. Such beautiful pictures! I love Eyore! I too love the beauty of the sky with the colors that blend together so effortlessly. I love all your sunset pictures but especially the last one. I think it was titled “sunset against the fields”. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to coming back again!
