Summer Aesthetic + Playlist

Hello, dears!

You guys seemed to really enjoy my last playlist post, so here’s another one! This time I chose 18 summery, fun, upbeat songs that are perfect for road trips, outings with friends, or just for putting yourself in a summery mood. 🙂

Since these songs tend to be more focused on happy melodies than deep lyrics, I’m not going to share my favorite lines this time – you’ll just have to discover some yourselves! Instead, I’ll tell a little bit about the song, accompanied by a link to a YouTube music/lyric video and a summery “polaroid” picture that (sometimes) goes with the song. You can find all the songs on Spotify as well. (Check the end of this post for a link to my full summer playlist!) And just so you know, all these songs are clean and family-friendly. 🙂

Now then! Unwrap that ice cream sandwich, put on your sunglasses, and let’s get listening.

Golden Hour Walk + My Favorite Music

Hello, dears!

Last Saturday evening I decided to wander around our farm and take some pictures, and I’m so glad I did! The woods and fields looked so peaceful and gorgeous in the golden light. ❤ Since the lighting was perfect, I focused on adjusting the settings in the moment to capture beauty without having to edit it later.

I absolutely love how the photos turned out, but instead of just saying that after every photo, I’m going to share some of my favorite music interspersed throughout with a link to a YouTube video for each of them. 🙂 I mostly listen to Christian music, but I also have a few pop, country, classical/instrumental, and folk songs on my playlist. Pretty much whatever strikes my fancy. XD They’re all clean, though; you don’t have to worry about that. 😉

Now, I hope you enjoy the photoshoot and maybe even find some new music to add to your collection!

How to Use Pressed Flowers

Hello, dears!

Lately I’ve been pressing a bunch of flowers and using them for different things, so I thought I’d do a post about it and hopefully inspire you guys to preserve some beauty on your own. Also I wanted an excuse to take pictures of the very aesthetic results. 😛

Today I’ll go through some simple tips for pressing flowers, as well as a few beautiful ways to use them and some mini DIY tutorials. Let’s get started!

Sea of Gold {Sisters Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

AHHH, I am so, so excited for this post! Can you believe this is the first sisters photoshoot in almost a year?? (You can see the last one here – yikes, I think our photography skills have improved since then.)

A couple of days ago, I was taking my brother lunch at our other farm down the road when I met with a breathtaking sight: one of the fields was nearly COVERED in buttercups! It was practically solid yellow in some parts. O.o As soon as I got home I told Megan about it and she was like, “Ooh, we should do a photoshoot!” Just what I was thinking. 😉

We went over that evening at golden hour, but sadly those pictures didn’t turn out the best since it was already getting dark when we went. :/ So we came back later one morning and oh my goodness, I absolutely LOVE how these photos turned out! I hope you guys do too.

~Make Your Own Sunshine~

Hello, dears!

The other day, I asked my sister if she wanted to do a photoshoot together, but she thought it would be best to wait till it was sunny instead of foggy. I thought, “Oh well, I guess I’ll have to make my own sunshine.” 🙂 So I gathered up my camera and tripod and spent a couple of hours taking “selfies.” HAHA! It was really fun, although extremely difficult sometimes to get a clear picture with the self-timer.

I also discovered that it’s hard to give a real smile when you’re just staring at a camera and not a person. And that I really don’t know what to do with my hands when I’m posing. :[] Despite my un-photogenicness, I hope you enjoy seeing the poses and locations and editing techniques like I do when I browse other people’s photoshoots! 🙂 Continue reading
