Photographing My Yard

Hello friends!

I don’t have quite the same photo opportunities now that I live in the town rather than on a farm – no fields surrounding my house or woods and creeks to explore nearby. But if you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m a firm believer that you can find beauty anywhere. So the other day I decided to take some pictures in my little yard after a rain shower to see if I could capture some pretty nature in our corner of the neighborhood.

Enjoy these peaceful pictures!

Another Dewy Photoshoot

Hello, my friends!

I’ve been saving this dewdrop photoshoot for several months, as you will see from the green-ness and flowers in this post. Since, of course, I’ve posted countless similar photoshoots (but I can’t help it!), I decided to edit these pictures a little differently. Although I took them all at the same time, I had fun editing some to look like they were taken at golden hour or even at night. You know me and my photo editing experiments, right? 😛

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this small dose of sunshine and growing things for a winter day!

How to Use Macro Extension Tubes on Your DSLR

Hello, dears!

Aria’s wedding was absolutely incredible and I can’t WAIT to post pictures, but I will save that for when she gets back. 🙂 Until then, I thought I’d make a post that’s been requested in the past: a guide on how to use the macro extensions I’ve featured in past posts!

I’ve already done a little review here, so check that out if you haven’t, but today I’m following it up with more practical knowledge, tips, and inspiration to get some beautiful macro photography.

The best thing? This super fun camera upgrade costs less than $10! O.o I’m always amazed because NOTHING camera related costs that little, am I right? XD

Alright, let’s go looking for the small things, shall we? 🙂

Macro Explorations {Raindrop Photography}

Hello, dears!

Ahh, guys, I’m so excited for this post because I have to say – this is my favorite nature photoshoot I’ve done in quite a while! 😀 If you’re a regular reader around here, you know that raindrop photography is a recurring theme with me, heh. If you’re new, hopefully the reason why will be clear after you read the post. 😉 I don’t think I’ll ever not be amazed at the perfect little jewels that literally coat the ground after a rain.

Macro photography isn’t really going to change your life or anything, but maybe it can remind you that there’s beauty and wonder everywhere, even in the rain, even when the big picture looks a lot like a sopping wet backyard in winter. You know? 🙂 It does for me.

Anyway. Let’s get into it!

A Sparkling Photoshoot {Macro Raindrops}

Hello, dears!

I’m back again with some photography while we wait to see who won the giveaway! 😉 Hee hee. But guys, thank you all SO much for your wonderful comments and excitement about my book – I can’t tell you how much it means to me. ❤ I’ll link the recent blog tour posts at the end of this post, but for now… how about some macro raindrop photography?

I must say, this photoshoot includes some of my favorite nature pictures I’ve taken in a while – and they’re not even autumn-themed. Shocking! XD I hope you enjoy this refreshing dose of bejeweled webs, garden plants, and flowers.

After the Rain: Garden Photography

Hello, dears!

These kinds of posts are some of my favorite to make, as you might know if you’ve been around here a while. 😉 Today I have a bunch of pretty nature photography for you, including butterflies, flowers, and raindrops found in our garden.

I took these photos the day after a glorious, answer-to-prayer rain finally came to end a summer drought. When you’re a farmer whose main key to success (the right weather) is totally out of your control, it teaches you dependence on God like nothing else, and also makes you so excited about rain that you’re riveted to the window, the weather app, and the rain gauge like they’re the most suspenseful movie ever. 😛

Everything was so beautiful and fresh the next day that I kinda just dropped everything and took a bunch of pictures. XD I hope you enjoy the results!

Garden Reflections

Hello, dears!

Nope, this post isn’t going to be deep thoughts about gardening or anything. Just some pretty macro raindrop photography. 😉

As you probably know if you’ve followed me for a little while, water drops are one of my favorite photography subjects, and this time I even managed to capture a few upside-down reflections in the droplets – even better! I hope you enjoy this lush photoshoot!

Minty Fresh {Field Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

Before I start this post, I just wanted to say thank you all SO much for your lovely birthday wishes! I had a wonderful day filled with love from friends and family, fun gifts, delicious food, a lovely walk in the woods, and a movie night. 🙂 I can’t believe I’m 19. O.o And yes, I will hopefully post about my birthday gifts next, because I know you guys enjoy those posts (as do I). 😉 So stay tuned!

But for now, I am SO excited to show you guys this photoshoot! I looked out the window one morning and saw that the wheatfield across the lane looked silver. It had just rained and the sun caught the bedewed wheat in a breathtaking way. I dropped everything and took heaps of pictures of all the little wonders I found at the edge of the field -including a large amount of ladybugs and water drops, which made for some amazing photos!

Have fun browsing through these minty-hued pictures!
