A Sunny Winter Walk in the Woods

Hello, friends!

Today I want to take you on a virtual walk through the forest with me. ❀ I found so many odd trees, lovely ferns, and pretty creeks on my little hike the other day. I haven’t traipsed around our farm like this by myself for quite a while, so it was really fun and refreshing to soak in a warm February day and take photos of the interesting bits of nature I discovered.

Enjoy this sunny winter photoshoot!

Rose Petals + Self Portraits

Hello, my friends!

I’m excited to make some Christmas posts soon, starting next week after we get our Christmas tree, but today I’m finally posting this photoshoot I did months ago with a lovely coral pink rose. One day I realized my shirt matched the color of the roses almostΒ exactly, and couldn’t resist doing a mini still life/self-portrait photoshoot with it! I had a lot of fun seeing how many different pictures I could compose with just one prop.

Enjoy some light and color and flower goodness!

Forest Portraits & Sunflower Fields

Hello, my friends!

This post is going to be kinda weird. I have two completely different photoshoots for you guys today: a collection of self-portraits I took back in January on a foggy/cloudy day, and a cheerful, summery set of sunflower photos left over from this sisters photoshoot. I love them both and I’m excited to finally share them together since they’re almost too small to post individually.

Enjoy some out-of-season photos! πŸ˜€

A Snowy Sunday Photoshoot

Hello, my friends!

Guess what? (I think you probably already have.) It finally snowed here! After not getting a decent snow at all last winter, I was delighted to wake up and to white outside. There’s just something so magical about the first snow day of the year, isn’t there?

Knowing me, you guys won’t be surprised that the main thing I did with the snow was photograph it. XD I did also enjoy eating snow cream and walking around our farm to see how different everything appeared.

Anyway, this post is about the photography part. Enjoy falling snowflakes, a happy dog, and generally a lot of white space. πŸ™‚

Farewell, 2020 {My Year in Review}

Hello, my friends! (New year, new greeting. πŸ˜‰ )

Well, 2020 is behind us. It felt like we’d never be able to say that there for a while, huh? πŸ˜› Anyway, today I’m back with my annual year-in-review post! This has been the weirdest, and in many ways the hardest year of my life, but it’s also taught me gratitude in a way normal years just can’t. So here’s a recap of lessons learned, highlights of the year, my favorite books and music, blog stats, and goals/resolutions.

This year I also have an exciting announcement + a little survey for you guys if you’re interested! Okay, this is going to be a loooong post, so let’s get started.

Etcetera #13 {Skyscapes, Self-Portraits, Mysterious Feathers, and Inflatable Pineapples}

Hello, dears!

I’m finally back with a collection of the random photos I’ve acquired since my last Etcetera post! πŸ˜€ Some of the pictures for today include vibrant sunsets, undignified cats, friends’ engagement photos, a baby turtle I rescued, my brother playing drums, and a large collection of paper butterflies.

I’m never quite sure what I hope to accomplish with these posts, but if you’re interested in pretty photos or hearing random bits about a farm girl’s life, mayhaps you will enjoy this scrapbooky collection. πŸ™‚ There’s only one way to find out, isn’t there? So, onwards! To the pictures!

Experiments with Self Portrait Photography

Hello, dears!

Since I’m the only subject that’s always available for photographs, I’ve gotten a lot of practice in taking camera selfies in the past several months. πŸ˜‰ Since you guys and I both liked the last self-portrait experiment post (see it here!), I decided to go ahead and edit these in some fun ways, including dramatic B&W, muted/understated filters, and more double exposure photos since I loved how they turned out last time!

It feels a little odd to just post a bunch of pictures of my face, but… I hope you enjoy? XD And maybe you can find some inspiration for your own photography/editing. πŸ™‚ Have fun scrolling!

Etcetera #11

Hello, dears!

Yikes. I haven’t done an “etcetera” post in three months – my computer is about to burst with random photos! I went through these again and again and eventually couldn’t bear to narrow them down anymore, so prepare for the biggest photo dump I’ve posted on here in a while. O.o This may require a cup of hot something or a snack, if you’re that kind of person. πŸ˜‰

Anyway, I’m rather excited about this mish-mashed collection of cute pups, jelly beans, self portraits, foggy photography, tangled plants, adventures, and aesthetic pictures. πŸ™‚ I’ll keep my captions to a minimum so you can just scroll and enjoy.

(Also happy Valentine’s day; I almost forgot. XD) Let’s do this!

Winter Palette {a Collection of Photos}

Hello, dears!

I’ve been taking lots of winter walks lately and getting pictures which are… kinda blah. Heh. It’s hard to find much variety and color in winter landscapes, you know? I think of blue and white as winter colors, but without snow, the palette is more like brown and gray. However, today I decided to try and embrace that, partially inspired by this lovely post, and pick out some of those photos to edit in a wintery, understated way.

Did they turn out aesthetic or just… brown? XD I don’t know, you’ll have to see what you think of my attempt! Read on for some interesting bits of winter I’ve collected for you. πŸ™‚
