I hope you guys had an excellent Christmas! And I had a wonderful Christmas – thank you for asking! š I can’t believe it’s already over, but we still have two Christmas parties to go to, so I guess it isn’t really…
Ahem. Onto the post. The other day Megan and Carmen and my cousin and I went sledding, and it was so much fun!Ā But theĀ other detail you need to know is thatĀ there was zero snow on the ground.
So, are you puzzled, bewildered, and otherwise confused? OrĀ did the featured image give it away? Oh bother. XD
Well, there’s this pile of fluff a.k.a. cotton seeds in one of our barns, and it turns out its excellent for sledding on! It’s packable like snow, but not nearly as cold. š (If you would like toĀ learnĀ more aboutĀ the cotton pile, click here.)
There happens to be quite a large, steep pile in the barn at the moment, which is perfect for sledding.

While we were sledding I gotĀ several funny pictures and only like two great ones. We made up a bunch of different “moves” like riding backwards with your eyes closed, or going down on your stomach versus sitting up or laying down, etc. It was like a mini roller coaster ride! The one variation that was hardest to master was sitting “sidesaddle.” Everyone who tried it flipped off and crashed except for my little sister Carmen – probably because she was the lightest. XD

Have you gone sledding for real yet? Does sledding in the cotton pile look like a fun substitute?
***Allison***
P. S. I haveĀ a bunch ofĀ posts I need want to post. XDĀ There’s a Christmas post with the gifts I made and the gifts I received, a post with a collection of some of my recent art, another post about these adorable kittens, and a year-in-review post! š Which one of those are you looking forward to the most?
How was your Christmas, Ojo? Also, I believe the correct tense is went sledding or sled, but I’m not sure. That looks like so much fun!

That looks like a lot of fun! Too bad we don’t have snow or cotton piles. Oh well, maybe at winter camp! (or a grass hill?? XD )
Those pigeons are neat! It’s cool that you got to photograph them up so close!
Ooh! Looking forward to your upcoming posts! I think I’m most excited for your Christmas gifts post! š

THAT LOOKS SO FUN!!! š® Sadly, we don’t have a cotton pile OR snow. *sniff*
My mom walked by and saw the picture of Megan with the pigeon and said, “That looks like you! An animal in one hand and a camera in the other.” XD XD

OOH! FUN! You should lend me some so I can sled the no-snow way, too. XD

Hee hee! Well if you plant a cotton seed maybe someday (in the VERY distant future) you’ll have enough seeds to sled on. XD We actually have grown a few plants from the seeds, but they usually don’t survive very long. š¦

That is so cool! It also looks like a ton of fun, especially because we don’t have any snow. It actually snowed a bit this morning(at least there was a tiny amount of snow on the ground when I got up), but we really haven’t gotten a good amount of snow this winter so far. Do you ever get enough snow to sled?

I’m glad you liked it! Ooh yeah, it flurried here too – but it didn’t amount to anything. š¦ But yes, we get enough snow to sled pretty much every winter! It’s really fun. š

How neat! So creative a way to sled without snow! I actually haven’t sledded this year, my dad, brother and I go skiing and snowboarding at a resort near here!! So fun! The cotton looks like a perfect substitute for snow, I wish I could come sled with you!
I’m most looking forward to the post of your recent art!! I love your art!
