Made New {Spring Photography}

Hello, dears!

Today I have even more spring photos for you! Are you shocked? I thought not. But spring is my favorite season and it’s just so photogenic… *sighs happily*

I went through the past few weeks of photography and picked my favorites from several different mini shoots to combine into one post. I love these photos, and I hope you do too!

Let’s start with a cute ladybug crawling up some land cress. I’d say this is one of my favorite favorites. 😛

flower 16

I sure hope this ladybug doesn’t have allergies, because it’s got pollen all over its shell. (In case you’re wondering, I do not have any allergies, a fact for which I’m supremely grateful.)

flower 17

I like experimenting with angles, and the contrast between a subject and a white sky.

flower 18

This land cress grew with henbit and other “weeds” in a big, meadow-like patch behind the rebaling barn. I kept seeing it out the door while we were working and reminded myself to take photos sometime. It’s a good thing I got to it before my brother did with the mower. 😛

Now for some different flowers. Our apple tree is finally blooming! I love how airy and springy the pale blooms and leaves look against a blue sky.

redbud 9

The apple tree stands at the edge of Eeyore’s pasture. I hope she leaves some apples for us when they’re ripe. At least she hasn’t eaten these gorgeous patches of violets! Purple is my favorite color, so violets make me happy. 🙂

redbud 7

Now let’s step inside for a moment. The redbud (which I posted about here) blooms right outside our old dining room window, right in the line of sight from my seat. It’s just breathtaking. It was hard to capture in photos, but that evening the sun caught the pink blooms and made them glow.

redbud 3

Ahhhh, I love this photo so much!

redbud 4

I meant to just step outside for some redbud photos, but then I saw dandelions shining in the sun all along the lane…

redbud 6

I think Maggie likes spring too because we’re always outside enjoying nature – and her. 😛

redbud 5

I took more dandelion photos another day as well. They looked lovely in the vibrant wheat field.

spring 9

I tried to take some photos of the seeds blowing, but I mostly ended up with blurs. 😛 I really like the motion in this photo, though – aren’t the bokeh trails in the background neat?

spring 11

Thankfully I’d brought along my macro lens tubes because dandelions are perfect candidates for close-up photography.

spring 6

The delicate, starry structure of the globe of seeds always fascinates me. I know dandelions can be ugly and weedy from a distance, but how can you not appreciate their beauty up close??

spring 8

Okay, we’re nearly done now. Isn’t it interesting to see the parallels between spring and fall? They’re both so colorful; sometimes the colors are even similar, like with new leaves and dying leaves.

spring 1

Green isn’t necessarily my favorite color, but I do love new green with sun shining through it. ❤

spring 3

Speaking of favorite colors… we shall end with another purple flower. So pretty!

spring 14

And that, my friends, is most of my recent spring photography! Stay tuned for some more photos from an amazing park near us, along with some hilarious action photos/portraits. 🙂

Which photo was your favorite? Do allergies ruin spring for you? (I sure hope not!) And do you think dandelions are pretty or weedy?

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

  1. EEEEEP! MORE SPRING PHOTOS!!!! They are all so gorgeous! I especially love the ladybug and dandelion photos. I love spring too…and then summer is just around the corner. Can’t wait to see more photos!

P.S. Your wildflower art print is SOO PRETTY! I seriously have no idea how you had the patience to paint each flower. But the finished piece is so happy looking!

      P. S. Aww, you're so kind! ❤ I'll admit it took a lot of patience to paint them all, but I'm pleased with the result too. 🙂

  3. Oh that ladybug is so cute! ❤
And wow it looks like summer there already! The dandelions already have seeds?! We barely even have any green up here yet! It's still pretty brown and dead everywhere you look. 😦
I love dandelions! I consider them a flower cuz when they are all sunny and yellow they have petals! But my mom hates them and refuses to see them as anything other than weeds. :/

    1. Hee hee, YES.
It’s getting there! The dandelions go through several cycles of flowering and seeding here, so they’ll do that later too. 😉 Oh, that’s sad. :/
I agree with you, but oh dear. XD

Oooh, dandelions. Personally, they aren’t my favorite, but they are for the main character of a book I’m writing.

A couple of photos that stood out to me are this one…

I liked the flowers, and also the interesting contrast between the natural, wild flowers and the “man-made” things in the background.
    And also this one… https://farmgirlslifebackup.files.wordpress.com/2019/04/redbud-3.jpg?w=765&h=1147

  12. Autumn and spring are my favourite times of year, in that order.
Autumn for those oranges, reds and yellows, that sound of walking through leaves, spring for the new flora.
