Hello friends!

Last weekend I got to photograph a lovely wedding! The bride was a friend of a friend and was referred to me when her first photographer couldn’t attend after all. Lydia was such a sweet and joyful bride and I loved getting to be a part of her and Zach’s special day!

I thought I’d share some of my favorite shots with you guys today for your enjoyment. 🙂

When I got there, one of the first things I photographed were Lydia’s details and her dress. This spot in the reception hall had abundant natural light. So pretty!

Can’t go wrong with a pretty ring shot on flowers!

The cake table by the window was the perfect place for flat-lay detail pictures.

I took SO many getting-ready photos but I’ll keep them to a minimum for the sake of post length. Lydia’s two sisters-in-law did an amazing job with her hair and makeup.

She requested pictures of the flower girl wearing the bride’s shoes and they turned out darling. ❤

I always have fun playing with mirror shots at weddings. So many sweet hugs during this day!

I found a ledge conveniently placed outside the getting-ready room, perfect for showing off the pretty bridal bouquet!

We took some portraits before the ceremony, including this one of the flower girl twirling like a princess. 🙂

The bridesmaids’ first look was so much fun to watch, haha. Many gasps, smiles, and happy tears.

AND HER HAIR. ❤ One of the bridesmaids and I went on a long search for missing wig glue to attach the “floating” baby’s breath, but to no avail. Thankfully eyelash glue worked fine!

Such a sweet first look with her dad. ❤ I love getting to capture candid emotion in wedding photography.

A special time of prayer before the ceremony. A few more tears were shed.

I’ll limit the ceremony pictures to just a few. Look how pretty this setting is!

Why do groomsmen always have the best pose ideas? They thought this one up themselves, haha.

And then a cute laughing one. It works well to ask people to laugh, resulting in fake laughter, resulting in real laughter at how funny you sound.

This is probably the most classic bride and groom shot I got. I love their joy. 😀

It was so fun to capture Lydia’s infectious smile and Zach’s gentle love for her.

A cute gazebo shot before heading into the AC because MAN was it hot outside!

On the way back, Zach scooped up Lydia and carried her up the steps. Hehe.

Reception time!

I was expecting BBQ since that’s what almost every wedding seems to have but this food was different and really tasty!

My friend Gwynhevere made this GORGEOUS wedding cake. And somehow it also tasted amazing?!

And even more! Lydia’s nephew was just too much with the curls and the outfit… agh.

Candid shots are my favorite ones to take at weddings. This portrait feels so tender and happy.

Some of their friends composed and sung an amusing song that caused much laughter, hehe.

Right before they left, we stepped outside for a couple more bride and groom portraits. We just barely caught the end of golden hour but it was still pretty.

They had their exit with flower petals instead of sparklers – so fun! This photo is epic if I do say so myself.

Their exit was rather lengthy since they had to clear out many balloons and wipe of copious amounts of shaving cream from their car before leaving, haha! Good times. 🙂
