Sophia Joy {3 Months}

As an early Thanksgiving gift, you get another Sophia post! 😀 We’ve been super busy recently between me getting strep throat, preparing for our first trip with a baby (a vacation with Sully’s family this week), and lots of Etsy orders + window washing jobs for peak season. I really wanted to get some pictures of Sophia before we left for the trip though, and managed to squeeze them in yesterday.

Guys these photoshoots keep getting cuter and cuter! Enjoy this absolutely delightful baby. 🙂

Look at this big girl holding her head up! She HATES tummy time on the floor, but did great with this pillow!

A series of Sophia expressions: happy, concerned (a.k.a. normal), and suspicious.

She’s getting SO strong and I was able to sit her up “by herself” with some propping and maneuvering. Don’t think she was a huge fan though…

I also realized the bouncy seat covered in a blanket makes a great photo location! Just chillin’.

DSC_5577

She has a rather intense stare for a baby, doesn’t she? 😛 But a pretty one. ❤

DSC_5589

Another happy Sophia! Actually this was probably when she wanted to fuss but I convinced her to smile instead – sometimes she smiles while crying when I talk to her and then she gets frustrated at me for forcing her to be cheerful. It’s hilarious.

DSC_5591

She has also discovered how yummy her fingers taste and loves to stuff her fists in her mouth.

DSC_5601

I took off her bow so you can see her fuzzy hair. She’s like, “Now Mama, why didn’t you just do that in the first place?”

DSC_5625

Haha, I think she was “talking” to me here. She coos and talks lots and sometimes shrieks happily.

DSC_5624

She has also started to stick out her tongue at me sometimes which cracks me up.

DSC_5628

I love this one! The background and lighting are so beautiful and she’s so bright-eyed!

DSC_5632

Haha the strings of drool… XD Always dripping. But I love this one too!

DSC_5641

WHAT A HAPPY GIRL. She really is turning into such a cheerful baby!

DSC_5646

This is almost the only profile angle I got which is a shame. I love her lashes and nose from the side.

DSC_5657

Such a beautiful baby. ❤

DSC_5659

Ooh, fascinating fingers!

DSC_5683

I brought back the mushroom sweater! I might try to make that a photoshoot tradition so we can watch her grow into it.

DSC_5696

An up-close view of how badly I need to trim her nails… They’re pretty like this but feel like claws!

DSC_5697

Thankfully her toenails hardly grow at all because they’re even harder to trim.

DSC_5703

I only got a few of her sitting up like this and despite her diaper peeking out in this one, I think it’s my favorite.

DSC_5711

And we’ll end with a full-blown delighted Sophia smile. 😀 It always makes me smile too.

I hope these cute snaps brought some joy to your day! Sophia sure brings a lot of joy to our lives. She’s becoming so happy and talkative and has even been sleeping through the night off and on. I’m looking forward to another month with our sweet girl. ❤

Which picture(s) did you like best?

Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!

  2. These are absolutely beautiful! The intensity of the colors are so vibrant and make my heart feel like warm and fuzzy like fall sunshine! 😁 🍁🍂

You just confirmed my idea to do a few fall/holiday photoshoots despite what the results might turn out as. Do you love your camera? I’m scared to pull the trigger on an actual big girl camera but I see so much beauty in the world. The every day, little things that I would love to share with the world. But life is too short to not try, right?

Anyway, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and blessed New Year. ❤️🕊️

    1. Aww thanks! I love how the colors turned out too.
Yes I do love my camera! It’s a bit of a learning curve but there’s no comparison to a DSLR if you’re interested in photography. Yes, so good for capturing beauty!
      Thank you – you too!

  3. Allison!! She is SO adorable! It’s rare that babies are cute from day one, but Sophia was! I also can’t get over her dark complexion! So sweet. 😍

  4. Sophia’s such a beautiful baby! What picture’s my favorite?!? All of them! Her expressions are so adorable. I love her smiles as well as her serious looks. But if I HAD to choose….maybe the one where she’s sitting up looking down at her fingers. It brings out her pretty lashes and concentrated, happy look. And both outfits are just darling!

Thank you for sharing such sweet photos! I pray you’re better from the strep throat, Allison, and that vacation goes well. Hope you’re having a Happy Thanksgiving!
