Sophia Joy {9 Months}

Sophia has now lived in the world for as long as she lived inside me! It’s getting tricky to do photoshoots these days because she doesn’t want to stay still for long. Also because of all the rain and cloudy weather here lately, I opted for a few simple pictures indoors this time. I think you’re going to be surprised at how much she’s “grown up” since last month. At least I sure feel that way!

I set her on a cute blanket with one of her toys so I could more easily take pictures. That lasted for… probably less than a minute, ha. She wants to exploreeee!

Her signature Sophia grin. 🙂

And some new silly smiles she has developed. She likes to make a little beaver face with her top teeth over her bottom lip. So funny.

“Mamaaaaaa I was going to snack on Daddy’s shoes! Why’d you have to take them away?”

Somber baby. She’s quite smiley around people most of the time, but can be awfully serious when she wants – usually if she’s tired.

Hahaha I love this one. It conveys how much she’s grown this month in expressiveness and awareness.

She’s fond of babbling and talking to us, and has even started learning “Mama” and “Dada,” though I don’t know if she has made the connection between the sounds and who we are, yet.

One of my favorites from the shoot. She can pull off a model face even with a giraffe in her mouth, ha!

Her hair is growing thicker and longer, which makes her look older as well.

She was getting fussy, so I took her to our bed to let her look out the window. You can still see a tear on her cheeks…

She is so very curious, alert, and engaged with the world around her. She can’t wait to touch, taste, move, talk, or feel something new. Kind of exhausting for her parents, but so neat to watch too.

Her new little beaver face, ha. Cutie pie. ❤

We’ll end with a sweet black and white. She’s losing some of her rolls as she gets more mobile, but as you can see, she still has some cute dimples and chub. ❤

She’s starting to seem more and more like a little toddler, goodness. She has grown so much in her awareness and understanding of other people and the way she interacts with them.

Sophia has definitely improved her mobility this month – she will scoot across the entire house to come find me when she wants to be picked up, and thanks to the chiropractor, she can actually crawl a little bit as well. She still struggles with easily falling into a cycle of “messed up routine > overtired > trouble falling asleep > even more overtired,” but I’m hoping we’ll see improvement in her emotional flexibility and stability as we continue the chiro visits.

I’m looking forward to another month of watching our sweet girl discover the world. ❤

Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!

    1. It’s so funny the perspective. My sister just had a baby and now Sophia looks huge! But thinking of her all grown up is crazy. Thanks for stopping by the blog!

  2. My original comment wouldn’t send; an error. It’s trying again on my phone this time. 😉

It’s like I can see Sophia moving in the pictures-such energy! I wonder if she’ll be into sports when she gets older, or at least athletic.

She’s so precious! I really love the pictures by the window. And what a fun collage! That’s a beautiful picture of you both in the midst of what looks like pink roses.
I’m glad the chiropractor visits are going well and pray they continue to help! Thank you for sharing these sweet pictures with us, Allison! Hope all is well with your dear family. May God bless and keep you!

    1. Whoops! WordPress has struggles sometimes.
Yes, she definitely has LOTS of energy. That’s a good question! I bet she will at least enjoy being outside. We’ll see!
Aww thank you! I love those too. Yes, the pink roses photoshoot might feature in a later post; it was just a few pictures but they turned out super cute.
Thanks so much for the kind words and for reading, as always. Take care, friend!
