This month’s Sophia photoshoot is a little briefer than normal. It has been an insane week between tons of appointments, preparing for vacation and Sully’s birthday, and especially my granddaddy finally passing away after a long battle with leukemia…
I still wanted to do a photoshoot of our little sunshine baby to celebrate her eleventh month. We managed to stay out in the crazy heat for long enough to get a few cute pictures. Enjoy!
What a cheesy little grin, hehe. I love how she wrinkles her nose when she smiles.

She looks so big with this button-up shirt on. ❤
She found this head of dill fascinating.

Pretty girl.

She is so close to walking – in fact, she probably could walk now if she believed in herself. 😛 She can stand a bit on her own but doesn’t like to. She sure gets around though!
The expressions… the eyebrows. :’)
Sophia the intrepid explorer.
Can never have too many close-ups of her adorable li’l face.

And we’ll end in a similar way to her last photoshoot: with pictures I took too early in the morning when the humidity fogged up my camera lens. But her funny little squint was too cute not to include, so here you go. 🙂

This has probably been the most fun month of Sophia so far. She is constantly jabbering in her own language, or practicing the dozen or so real words she has learned. I think she has inherited my metabolism – we are both constantly hungry now, haha. Don’t come between this baby and her food (or milk) unless you want to face the wrath of Sophia.

Best of all, her personality is now defined by joy rather than fussiness. Whether that’s due to the chiropractor or to age, I guess we’ll never know, but I am eternally grateful that our baby is such a delight to be around! We love you, sweet girl!
Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!

Wow! Those lovely teeth! I am a fan of people’s eyebrows and she certainly has a expressive pair! I am sorry to hear about your Grandpapa’s passing. I know how hard that is but so glad he was able to share time with Sophia. My dad passed many years ago just before my granddaughter was born. We have always said that they have a spiritual connection as I think your little one does with your Grandpa. Love to you sweet family. The world is not a very neat mess right now but God blesses us with an abundance of love and joy !

It’s funny what features people are drawn to – eyebrows are a great one in Sophia’s case!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I do feel so blessed that he was able to meet Sophia and that we have pictures of them together. ❤️ I’m sorry your dad didn’t meet your granddaughter, but what a special thought. Yes, the Lord blessed abundantly! And we know he is fully healed and Home now since he was a strong believer. ❤️

Beautiful photos, Allison! The lighting is gorgeous. Also, it’s funny that you mentioned your lens fogging up while trying to take photos, because I was having that issue just the other day at VBS. I was standing by the open door and my lens fogged up because of the humidity outside!
Also, I’m sorry for the loss of your grandfather. 😦 I pray that your family experiences the peace that passes all understanding. ❤

Thank you! Yes I like the dark contrasting background in these. Haha oh dear, that’s a challenge. How did you address that? I’m not sure what I’d do in that situation.
Thanks so much, Sassafras. ❤️ We are doing pretty well overall as we are relieved his suffering is over and he is with the Lord. I appreciate your prayers!

I think it helped when I put my lens cap on before taking my camera outside, and then taking my lens cap off. I need to experiment further, though!

Oh dear! I have the propensity to drop mine on the floor when I’m trying to put it on my lens…

I’m so sorry to hear about your grandfather’s passing. 😦 Praying for you all. I can only imagine how hard this month has been, as well as accepting the cheerful things (birthday and vacation). I’m glad the Lord brought some highlights for you in the midst of worry and grief.
Goodness! 11 months! She’s so cute and pretty! It’s so fun seeing her personality through the pictures: her humor as well as her firmness. It’ll be neat if she continues those traits as she gets older. Maybe she’ll be a girl who won’t be easily swayed away from her convictions. 🙂
Many blessings and prayers to your family!

Thank you for the kind words, my friend! It has been a month full of highs and lows but definitely a lot of blessings.
I think you’re exactly right! She is a determined yet sweet little one and I’m excited to see how her personality develops as she gets older.
Thank you again – praying for you guys as well!
