Pictures & Poetry {May 2021}

Hello, my friends!

Since you guys really seemed to enjoy my last poetry post, I thought it was about time for another one! One of these days I’m going to put these poems and a bunch more into another book, but for now, enjoy some pretty words and pictures here on my blog.

Today I have six new poems: some are stories, some are thoughts, some are from my own experiences, and all are for you. 🙂 Have fun!

Etcetera #15 {Doughnut Making, a Spring Festival, and Old Hotels}

Hello, my friends!

Get ready for a LOT of pictures today because I haven’t done one of these miscellaneous photography posts in five months! I still haven’t shared small adventures from way back in December, like making doughnuts and going on a rather spontaneous road-trip. Not to mention more recent events like a spring festival our friends put on with barn dancing and competitions and lots of fun memories. And, of course, plenty of pretty nature and landscape photos as usual. 🙂

Enjoy this mixed-up collections of moments from the past half year!

Birthday Explorations {a Green Truck Ride}

Hello, my friends!

Last week for my birthday, I chose to go on a Green Truck Ride around the farm and it was PERFECT, ahh! “Green truck rides” are kinda a lost tradition in our family. Dad has this vintage, mint-green Chevy truck he built that’s perfect for exploring our land in, but for the past four or five years it’s been out of repair. He finally fixed it up and we got to drive around at golden hour in perfect weather for my 21st birthday! It was an absolutely lovely evening.

Enjoy some happy photos of a delightfully flower-lined path, a soggy dog, and golden hour goodness.

Forest Portraits & Sunflower Fields

Hello, my friends!

This post is going to be kinda weird. I have two completely different photoshoots for you guys today: a collection of self-portraits I took back in January on a foggy/cloudy day, and a cheerful, summery set of sunflower photos left over from this sisters photoshoot. I love them both and I’m excited to finally share them together since they’re almost too small to post individually.

Enjoy some out-of-season photos! 😀

Green & Glowing Things {a Springy Photoshoot}

Hello, my friends!

Spring is out in full force here and I am LOVING it. One of my favorite things about this season is how the sunlight soaks everything so deeply that it almost makes the colors glow with a light of their own. I had so much fun bringing that out in these photos from when I took a walk in the woods and found so many lovely tiny flowers and baby leaves to show you guys.

So here’s a little dose of beauty for your day (and your desktop, if you so desire). 🙂 Enjoy!

A Sweet & Salty Photoshoot

Hello, my friends!

I have a rather random but fun collection of photos for you guys today. My friend Aria sent each other Dutch licorice a while back since we both love it, and whenever I get Dutch licorice I can’t help but photograph it. 😛 It’s just such photogenic candy! If you’ve never had it before, it usually tastes like regular licorice but a bit saltier and more molasses-like. Click here to see the website where we bought it.

Anyway, these photos are certainly not life-changing or anything, but I hope they sweeten your day a little bit. 🙂 Enjoy the results of me playing with my food!

Exploring New Orleans {Road Trip Travel Journal, Pt. 4}

Hello, my friends!

Well, this is it – the last post in my vacation series! Today we’re going to visit New Orleans, specifically the French Quarter. I am NOT a city girl and usually don’t enjoy touring cities that much, but this was such a neat experience, oh my goodness! I loved it.

Read on for what alligator meat tastes like, pictures of a gorgeous cathedral, a parking mistake, the longest bridge in the world, and the best game of Dutch Blitz ever. 🙂 Enjoy!

A Foggy Beach Photoshoot {Road Trip Travel Journal, Pt. 3}

Hello, my friends!

This next part in my vacation series comprises a bunch of photos I took at a rather chilly beach in Galveston, Texas. When you think of beaches, you think of sun and warmth, but as we went in February, this one was more… foggy and cold. Hehe. It was a little disappointing but also neat because I’ve never been to a beach in the fog before. And I love fog. At least it made for some neat, eerie-looking photos!

Enjoy some aesthetic, gloomy ocean photography! 🙂

Scenic Overlooks & Magnolia Silos {Road Trip Travel Journal, Pt. 2}

Hello, my friends!

Yay, I’m back with the second part of my vacation series! Today I have a BUNCH of Texas photos for you guys, specifically from this gorgeous overlook we found and then our visit to the Magnolia Silos in Waco. I also added  phone pictures of funny vacation memories like that time Megan got stuck in the campground bathroom and when we narrowly avoided being smushed by leaning telephone poles… 😛

If you haven’t yet read the first part of the series, click here to do so. Otherwise, let’s get into it!
