Aria’s Wedding! {Lots of Pictures :)}

Hello, dears!

AHHHH. As you can imagine, I am so, SO excited to be making this post! EEEP. For those of you who don’t know, I recently had the privilege to be in my best friend’s wedding with my sister Megan and oh my goodness, it was amazing, despite all the changes COVID19 made.

This was the first time I’ve been in a wedding, not to mention been a maid-of-honor, and it was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed spending time with the rest of the wedding party and seeing all the beautiful decorations and just the general excitement of it all, although MAN did it make us all exhausted.

I hope you guys enjoy this little “travel journal” post of flowers, dresses, spiders, cameras, friends, hymnals, steamers, and the best memories. Have fun scrolling through the weekend! 🙂

How to Use Macro Extension Tubes on Your DSLR

Hello, dears!

Aria’s wedding was absolutely incredible and I can’t WAIT to post pictures, but I will save that for when she gets back. 🙂 Until then, I thought I’d make a post that’s been requested in the past: a guide on how to use the macro extensions I’ve featured in past posts!

I’ve already done a little review here, so check that out if you haven’t, but today I’m following it up with more practical knowledge, tips, and inspiration to get some beautiful macro photography.

The best thing? This super fun camera upgrade costs less than $10! O.o I’m always amazed because NOTHING camera related costs that little, am I right? XD

Alright, let’s go looking for the small things, shall we? 🙂

A Dramatic Floral Photoshoot

Hello, dears!

Ha, I had a terrible time coming up with the title for this post. “Dark and moody” sounds scary to begin with, but when you combine it with “flowers”… It just doesn’t work. XD So I went with “dramatic.”

So anyway, I’m posting pretty flower pictures today. I was working with rather flat, boring lighting, so I decided to edit it in a more dramatic style that highlighted the intricate forms of the flowers without depending on nice, glowy lighting to make the colors pretty. I have to say, I’m quite pleased with how they turned out!

Also, some of these might make good phone wallpapers… feel free to use them as such if you wish. 🙂 Enjoy!

A Girl and a Goat {Extreme Cuteness Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

EEEP, if you need some cheering up today, I got a smile for you! Or maybe a couple dozen. I am seriously SO excited for this post – this may be my favorite photoshoot yet. I love everything about it.

The other evening I took some golden-hour pictures of my youngest sister with her beloved, adorable dwarf goat and… *flails* I love these photos so so much, and I hope they’ll make you guys grin as much as they did for me! (Warning: this may make you want a dwarf goat and/or a little sister. 😛 )

Okay. Here we go. Get ready for some cuteness.

Golden Days {Farewell to Teenage Years +a Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

Welp, today I officially turn twenty. O.o I feel so old, good gracious. So far my birthday has been amazing, especially the part where almost 30 of my friends sent me birthday videos that GAHHH made me smile so hard. If you’re reading this, dears – thank you for making my day X100. ❤ ❤ ❤ I love you girls so much!

*deep breath* Anyway, where was I? Oh yes. This birthday post is going to be one of my favorite kinds – a pretty golden hour photoshoot, because those make me happy. 🙂 And instead of photo captions, maybe I’ll do kind of a “Thoughts On…” ramble about how it feels to not be a teenager anymore because whyyyy does everyone act like it’s terrible to be one? It can be, but it can also be wonderful. So yeah.

Let’s go for a walk and take pictures of flowers and chat about life. Let’s have a golden day, shall we?

Spring Playlist + Aesthetic {2020}

Hello, dears!

Let’s talk about music! I’ve had a lot of fun putting together another playlist post for you guys today since my, it’s been a while. Spring always seems like a season of hope to me, despite whatever the news is saying right now. It’s hard to be too sad when I go outside and see new green life spreading over the old brown world as it always does, year after year…

So here are a few of my recent favorites and hopeful songs to brighten you day. I hope you enjoy! Grab your earbuds or speaker and let’s get listening. 🙂

Thoughts On… {Seeing Beyond}

Have you ever been out walking in the golden evening when the world is soft and quiet and the honey sun coats everything?

Have you ever seen the brown and dull things glow around the edges, gilded by the light, or a sullen cloud with a silver lining and just… it just looked beautiful, even if it was the saddest looking thing the last time you passed by? Sometimes the light makes flowers on the trees where nothing exists but brown buds, shining and illuminated with warmth.

What I am asking is, have you ever seen the sun transfigure ordinary things into something glorious?

I have seen it happen. And I know, whatever happens, I cannot quite give up hope…

Brown & Red {An Easter Short Story}

Hello, dears!

Happy Good Friday! This is the weirdest Easter of my life, so today I have for you a strange sort of Easter story that doesn’t seem very Easter-ish at first – but it gets there, trust me!

I wrote this after it struck me the other day how gross but how powerful it would have been to live in a sacrificial system like the Israelites did. You might not want to read this story if you’re squeamish. :[] I mean, the sheer amount of blood and death would be appalling, yet even more so, the fact that God chose to dwell among you despite the sin that caused all that.

Viewing the ultimate sacrifice through the eyes of a person used to countless sacrifices really gave me a new perspective on love’s most astounding triumph of all time. I hope it does for you too.
