Hello, Fall {Décor + Autumn Photos}

Hello, dears!

Well it’s fall, and that means time to break out the pumpkins and take pictures of colorful leaves. 🙂 We usually aren’t into seasonal decorations that much, but we decided to do some fall stuff this year and I think it turned out so pretty! Mayhaps this little décor tour (HA!) will give you some inspiration to make your own fall decorations. 😀

Pumpkins

I love pumpkins! They’re so cute and pretty and round. We grew two different types of pumpkins this year and they both turned quite well. First we have the mini ones… (SO ADORABLE!)

fall 4 (1280x853)fall 5 (1280x854)

As well as a bunch of bigger ones. I like the staggered arrangement of pumpkins in different sizes and shapes for added interest.

fall 7 (1280x853)fall 8 (853x1280)

fall 6 (1280x853)

Another fun way to use pumpkins (especially mini ones) as decorations is to spray paint them metallic gold or copper. Aren’t they pretty?

fall 10 (1280x853)

Osage Oranges

Osage oranges, or hedge apples, as they are sometimes called, are round, green, baseball-sized fruits that grow on thorny trees. They aren’t edible, though, unless you’re a cow or a horse. I think they’re so neat! We got these from our grandparents and arranged them in a rustic wire basket to serve as a door stopper.

fall 1 (853x1280)fall 2 (1280x1163)

My sister named one of them Samwise and painted it gold. XD I’m telling you, gold spray paint can make anything look beautiful! They look like something you’d buy, don’t they? Now I will say that after a couple of weeks it kind of spoiled even through the paint. But it looked pretty while it lasted. 🙂

fall 9 (1280x853)

fall 11 (1280x935)

So there we go! Those are two ways we’ve decorated for fall so far. Which one was your favorite? Also before you go I wanted to add a few fall photos while we’re on the topic. 🙂 Enjoy!

DSC_2625 (1280x853)

We have this huge puffy maple tree in our front yard that always turns color super early. It usually has a sort of ombre effect where it goes from red to orange to yellow to green. 🙂

DSC_2621 (1280x853)

There are cicada shells all over our trees and it’s rather annoying. BUT this one did provide a good focal point for testing out some bokeh. 😀 Do you have a lot of cicadas where you live? In the evenings they’re so loud it’s almost deafening here.

DSC_2695 (1280x853)

I love the bokeh in these next pictures! (Can you tell I’m kind of obsessed? XD)

So that’s about it! I hope you enjoyed this fall-ish post, dear readers. What is your favorite thing about fall? I love the weather and the beautiful clear days and colorful leaves.

P. S. I have an ADORABLE bunny photoshoot coming up soon, so stay tuned! 😀

Bits & Pieces #1

Hello, my dears! Welcome to yet ANOTHER random photography post, where Allison dumps all the miscellaneous orphan photos that she couldn’t fit in any other post. XD I am waaay backed up with extra photos so I hope you’re ready for a lot of photography posts! 😀

Ahem. Let’s begin.

The Eclipse

I still haven’t shown you my pictures from the eclipse? Dear me, I AM behind. XD Anyway, I didn’t get any spectacular pictures, but I did get a few through welding glass to at least document what happened. The welding glass made everything look green, but I managed to edit out most of the color except that one green guy over there. XD As you can see, we weren’t in the path of totality.

eclipse (1280x256)

I thought the eclipse looked really neat through clouds!

DSC_1604 (1280x853)

And here’s just a bonus picture I took that day. So pretty!

DSC_1613 (1280x853)

The Enormous Bonfire

We occasionally burn a heap of brush or extra wood piles and such on our farm, and I got these pictures from one of those times. Dad pushed the pile around with the telehandler which made the bonfire practically explode in a column of glittering orange sparks. It was breathtaking!

DSC_1983 (853x1280)DSC_1968 (853x1280)summer (2) (853x1280)DSC_1961 (853x1280)DSC_1959 (853x1280)

Bonus picture of the cows that watched the bonfire with us. XD There were a bit confused about what was happening, as cows usually seem to be.

DSC_1944 (1280x853)

There were actually a few bulls in the pasture, and one started sort of stomping and bellowing. O.o Thankfully nothing bad happened. Isn’t it funny how he has a heart on his forehead? You can’t see it too well in this picture, but he really does!

Megan’s Birthday Party

We had a lot of fun decorating the front porch and outside table for Megan’s party. Aren’t the colors pretty?

We used zinnias from our garden for some of the decorations, and I got some lovely pictures of the bouquets. ♥

Megan wanted to have doughnuts instead of cake, which was quite a good idea in my opinion. 😉 We made the doughnuts the previous day and I also made a little happy birthday banner for the top.

Yum, fresh lemonade!

Grandma brought Megan a beautiful rose from her house along with her gift.

DSC_1813 (1280x853)

We had a water balloon fight for one of the party games. It was so fun, AND I didn’t get very wet, which was good since it wasn’t that hot. XD

Moving a Piano + Another Bonfire

One night we went to our grandparents’ house to help move their piano from the basement to their room. 🙂 It was quite hard work… well actually I didn’t do much but stay out of the way and document it for posterity, but it looked like hard work. When they finally brought it to my grandparents’ room, it wouldn’t fit through the door. But then they tried turning it on end and thankfully it just fit. Phew! The poor piano.

DSC_2432 (853x1280)

I also got some super neat pictures of the piano without its top on. I love them, especially after they were edited!

After we got the piano all figured out we had a bonfire and picnic. Fire is so fun to watch, isn’t it?

DSC_2446 (1280x853)DSC_2454 (1280x853)

I got a really good picture of my grandpa smiling when he didn’t know I was taking a picture. I edited it a good bit, as you can tell, but isn’t it neat?

Freshly Picked

I took these photos for my sister’s photo contest, BIBPC. I think they turned out rather pretty!

Also isn’t this tomato HILARIOUS?! It looks like it’s sticking out its tongue at you.

The Rest of Them

THESE COOKIES ARE DELICIOUS! I took pictures of them because I wanted to submit the recipe to Olivia Bell’s wonderful magazine. Be sure to check it out (and make it) when the next issue comes out here soon! You can subscribe to her magazine through the contact form in this post.

There we go! That was pretty much a whole bunch of mini posts smushed into one huge one. XD I hope you enjoyed! Which topic was your favorite?

The Color Box {A Story + A Surprise}

GUYS. I AM SO EXCITED! I finally, FINALLY started an Etsy shop for my art, after working on it for quite a while! 😀 AHHH YAYAYAYAY!

Ahem. Anyway, let me tell you a little bit about it and why I’m so excited for it. Click on the picture or the link below it to visit my shop.

the color box header

The Color Box Studio

Story Behind the Shop // My Mission:

I’ve loved art my whole life and I’ve always dreamed of selling my art and crafts as a business. It was (and still is) my dream job. That’s why I’m so overjoyed to actually be doing it! I believe God gave me what talent I have to use it for his glory as well as to bring myself and others joy. 😀 I hope to build a collection of fun, beautiful prints that will brighten people’s homes and add unique, handmade pieces to their décor that you can’t buy just anywhere.

Behind the Name

After much deliberation, I named my shop The Color Box Studio because I love colors and have a box of 72 Prismacolor colored pencils that is among my most treasured art supplies. 😀 Plus I just think it’s a cute name. XD

What I Sell

Currently I’m just selling art prints, but I hope to add some original and custom pieces soon. (If you have a custom request, just let me know and I’ll be happy to work with you!)

I have four prints available so far and I can’t wait to add more soon! Here’s a peek at two of the listings, and you can see the rest here.

Click on the pictures to visit the listing.

Red Fox Art 2

Zentangle Elephant Art 2

What is Gicleé?

The type of prints I sell are called gicleé (pronounced jhee-CLAY). Gicleé uses a certain process and materials to create super high-quality prints with bright colors and fine detail. I decided on it after some research and trial-and-error, because it’s basically the best-quality art print you can get and looks almost exactly like the original. Each piece of art is printed on thick, white, archival-quality paper to ensure it will last a looong time – a minimum of 80 years! I use this printing company and I absolutely adore their products and customer service.

So yeah! That’s my announcement! 😀

****************

Also, since I realize the news is probably not as thrilling to you as it is to me (and this post would be way too short otherwise XD), I wrote a little story for you guys at Mercury‘s suggestion. 🙂 I hope you enjoy!

The Color Box

The air was heavy that day, laying on her shoulders and sitting on her head like a great flock of birds. It was November, bleak and colorless, and Kira was wandering the streets as usual. Her long, gray-brown hair hung limp and forlorn in the miserable weather and she walked slowly, so she could notice everything.

Kira was an Observer. She collected things with her mind. She had a whole room in her brain filled with the small wonders she had seen: mist rolling in mysterious clouds along the street; a striped snail sliding over a little white mushroom; three cats following an old woman with an enormous straw hat…  She never took the things she saw; she just looked, and remembered.

Her favorite part about Observing was the colors. Her city had precious little color to brighten its weary streets, so whenever she found a yellow flower springing from a sidewalk crack or a bright bluebird flashing by, she smiled her soft, slow smile and closed her eyes to be extra sure she would remember it.

Today, a piece of color caught her eye and her heart leapt. It was a color box. She saw it flashing in the sunlight, peeking out from under a heap of dry leaves and crumpled papers, and she hurried toward it.

When she opened it, she breathed a shuddering breath of delight. She had never seen so many colors at once. All the colors of the rainbow, and even more besides! The pencils were lined up in an uneven row, some blunt and some sharp, some tall and some short, and they were all beautiful.

Kira looked at it thoughtfully, and made a decision. For once, Kira collected with her hands as well as her mind. She would use it to draw the best memories in her collection so she could never forget them.

She began at once, smoothing out a crumpled piece of newspaper nearby to draw on. At first she tried a flower, one of her favorite finds. Kira chose a periwinkle blue for the petals and a bright green for the stem and leaves. Her pencil scratched and scraped on the paper. Her eyebrows drew together in concentration and she caught her bottom lip between her teeth to keep it from trembling with excitement. Finally Kira sat up and looked at it.

Her face fell. The colors were beautiful, but the flower did not look like the picture in her head. Kira was discouraged, but then she set her mouth firmly and promised herself that she would make a better one.

All day Kira worked. She drew flowers, she drew snails, she drew her fingertips with their broken nails. A little beetle crawled onto her paper and she drew it too. Twice a pencil got too worn down and she had to take a break to sharpen it with the dull sharpener inside the box. Finally, as the sun was setting, Kira drew the same periwinkle flower one more time. She smiled slowly in satisfaction. It still did not look like a perfect match, but it was much better than her first try.

She could hardly wait to try again tomorrow.

The next day she decided to try and draw the face of the old man who always sat on the weathered bench beside the curb. To her dismay, faces were much, much harder to draw than flowers. But as before, she took a breath, selected a new crumpled piece of paper, and started again. She stared at him for minutes at a time, taking in each wrinkle, each hair, the color of his eyes and skin and lips. And then she drew.

Day after day, she tried again. Sometimes she drew faces of passersby or people who looked out of the windows, but most of all she drew the old man who always stared ahead at nothing, rubbing a thumb over the a brown mark on the thin, wrinkled skin of his hand.

Finally, one day she was satisfied. She looked from her drawing to the old man’s face and grinned. Shyly, she stood up pushed the paper into his lap.

“I drew this for you,” she said quietly. The man blinked and looked down slowly. He stared at the drawing for a long time, and then looked up at the girl. He smiled.

The next day there was an old woman beside the man on the bench. When he saw Kira he beckoned her toward him and said, “Can you draw her too?” Kira could.

Thereafter Kira drew a new person every day. After a while she got tired of drawing with the same colors, so she chose different ones. Kira drew people not in the colors she saw with her eyes, but in the colors she saw inside of them – the colors they really were.

Her solemn gray-brown eyes looked at you unflinchingly, looked and looked until you felt she was pulling your secrets, good and bad, from your eyes, and you dropped your gaze. Kira found the secrets one by one and from those she could tell the color of the person. Some people were bright yellow and orange and pastel pink, and others were blue and gray and purple. One man was only black and white.

Every day Kira drew, on newspaper and scraps of cardboard and paper bags. When she was finished, she hung them on lampposts all over the city, so the people she had drawn could find them. Slowly the city grew more colorful. When people saw the drawings they would stop for a second look, and walk on with their inside colors shining more clearly on their faces. And Kira herself was no longer composed of grays and browns but of all the colors of her pencils, for they had bled into her fingers and crept into her heart, so that they were a part of her.

Nowadays Kira still collects things – the room in her mind is heaped to overflowing – but her favorite memory was and always will be, her color box.

Hee hee, that was a fun little story. 🙂 I hope you liked it and my Etsy shop. What is your favorite listing I have so far? And what is your favorite “color box” – colored pencils, watercolors, markers, etc.?

Thanks for reading, my dears, and have a most wonderful day!

Pink Flowers and Little Sisters

The other day when we had our little Labor Day adventure I did a rather cute photoshoot with my little sister Carmen, if I do say so myself. 🙂 I just love how the pictures turned out, and I can’t wait to show you guys!

When I saw all the pretty pink smartweed flowers, I knew they were just begging to be in a photoshoot. Heh heh. I asked Carmen if I could take pictures of her and after a few tries she reluctantly agreed… and then once we got started she didn’t want to stop. XD If you love photography and have siblings, especially younger siblings, a photoshoot is a really fun thing to do with them!

Ahem. And now for the pictures (and there are a LOT). XD

Labor Day Adventures

This Labor Day we did something a different than an ordinary picnic or cook-out. Since Dad and the boys were out harvesting corn, Mom suggested that we girls pack a lunch and just go out and walk around the farm. So we did! It was quite fun.

We packed some sandwiches, mint tea, chips, and a couple other things which I can’t remember (XD), and took along backpacks filled with books and cameras.

This is my cucumber sandwich. Say hello. I didn’t want to waste the bread crusts after I cut out the sandwich, so I flattened them with a rolling pin, spread some cream cheese on, and rolled them up into roses. 😛

DSC_2016 (1280x853)

First we headed past a place we call “The Sycamores” because… there are a lot of huge sycamore trees by the creek. DSC_2030 (853x1280)

I found some lovely periwinkle morning glories along the path. Aren’t they charming?

DSC_2019 (1280x853)

DSC_2023 (1280x853)

We finally settled on a pretty, peaceful corner of the pasture filled with smartweed – a dainty little pink flower. We spread out a blanket, hung the hammock, and relaxed.

I found a beautifully shiny, polished nut.

The scenery was more scrubby here than the rest of our farm, but still pretty.

Trees are nice.

After we ate lunch and read for a while, we decided to move to a different spot. We crossed the barbwire fence (no easy feat in this pasture), walked over the field, up the hill, down a lane, and up another hill to a beautiful hidden spot behind a pasture. We’d never been there before, which is something rare since we’ve walked pretty much everywhere on our farm, and it was delightful to explore it.

Unfortunately I didn’t get many pictures with my camera because it ran out of battery, but Megan lent me hers.

HA HA cows are such funny creatures. XD

I think this picture is so neat but I don’t know why – it’s rather cluttered.

DSCN3265 (1280x960)

I had the idea to play mancala while we were there. (Have you ever played that? It’s really fun!) I dug out some holes in the dirt with a stick and used corn kernels for the marbles. It actually worked!

It’s really hard to see on camera, but Carmen and I built a great fort around this perfect square of trees. There were huge logs scattered everywhere (one pile was in a huge sinkhole O.o ). They made great walls but were exhausting to carry. We didn’t finish the fort, but we did make a good start.

Mom and Carmen and I also built this little campfire area in a pretty shaded nook. We stacked stones for a firepit, hauled in some rocks and stumps for chairs, and made benches from logs and rocks. 🙂 It was fun.

Mom also found this really odd-looking spider. O.o (She’s for you, Clara. 😉 )

DSCN3220

In the evening our whole family came up and had a picnic with us, and a bonfire too.

So that’s what we did for Labor Day! It was great fun, even though the mosquitoes practically devoured me. I got over 40 mosquito bites (yes, I counted XD). O.o Anyway, the memories will last for much longer than the bites will, so it’s all good.

I hope you enjoyed this loooong post, my dears! Which was your favorite picture? Which was your least favorite? What did you do for Labor Day?

My County Fair Entries for 2017

Hello, my friends! 😀

I know some of your were looking forward to seeing my fair entries and what prizes I won, so here you go! This is for you. 🙂

Here’s a picture of all my entries except the photos. It’s… kind of hard to tell what’s what, so let me show you a little more clearly…

DSC_1506 (1280x853)

A strange little octopus. 🙂

DSC_1511 (1280x853)

I like this one! Two little gnomes in a flower house. 🙂

DSC_1516 (1280x853)

Look how tiny he is!

DSC_1518 (1280x853)

A doughnut turtle! She’s so cute. 😀 (Also note you can find this and the previous three clay things at my Etsy shop.)

DSC_1521 (1280x853)

This is a lil’ hippo I made for my little sister’s birthday to hold trinkets and such. She said, “No, Allison, do you have to enter it? I need it to hold my things!” XD 😀

DSC_1523 (1280x853)

I also won a sweepstakes ribbon for ceramics, so that was really exciting!

DSC_1537 (1280x853)

I made this tissue paper flower from a DIY book.

DSC_1524 (1280x853)

These didn’t win a prize because I accidentally grabbed a falling-apart one from my collection. XD Oops.

DSC_1525 (1280x853)

I made this cute little elephant in a sewing class. It was rather hard to make, but I love how it turned out!

DSC_1526 (1280x853)DSC_1527 (1280x853)

Just a bonus picture of a butterfly that was passing through. 😀

DSC_1528 (1280x853)

Here’s the picture of my friend Aria from the last post. Sadly, it didn’t win a prize. :/ Oh well! I like it anyway. 🙂

drawing 2 (1280x1040).jpg

Strangely enough, this won third prize, even though I think the portrait was a lot better. Perhaps they were judging by creativity?

moonrise galaxy (1280x948)

Okay, now for the photos I entered. I entered this in “Abstract,” but it didn’t win a prize.

abstract (1280x853)

This was for “Action.” It also didn’t win a prize.

I entered this in “Close-Up,” and it won first prize!

“Architecture,” and no prize.

“Humor,” and first prize! Heh heh, isn’t it funny? XD

And that’s all for this year! Altogether I believe I got 12 prize ribbons out of 21 things entered, plus one sweepstakes ribbon. Not too bad!

Well, I hope you enjoyed looking over a summary of the stuff I made and photos I took in a year’s time. 🙂 Do you like to enter things in your fair? Did you win any prizes?

Thanks for reading, my dears, and have a lovely day. ♥

Drawings and Such + Why It’s Okay to Make Bad Art

YAY, I am so excited to share some of my recent art with you guys! I’ve been drawing a lot lately, and I think I’ve really been improving, so that’s good. 😉

Also, before we start I wanted to mention this super good video (which I’ll show you in a moment) by Hullo Alice that talks about why it’s okay if not every piece of art turns out perfect. I thought it was such a good message!

Sometimes when people try to make art and it doesn’t end up looking like the idea in their head or they search the web and find soooo many better artists out there, they just give up, and think, “I’ll never be good at art, so what’s the use of trying?” The use of trying is that you WILL get good at art if you give yourself a chance. You might not ever get as good as the professional art you love looking at on Pinterest, but you’ll certainly be a terrible artist if you never try.

Listen, before you make some good art, you’re going to make (a lot of) bad art. That’s just how it works with anything – art, music, math, anything you try to learn. And that’s okay. Making bad art is part of the process of getting to be a good artist. If the piece you’re working on is terrible, just let it go, turn the page, and start again. You’ll get better if you keep trying over and over again, I can promise you that.

Okay, now that that little rant was over and you (hopefully) watched the video, I can show you my art. 🙂 I decided to include some of my “bad art” (although not my worst XD) in this post too.

Let’s get started!

I shall start with some of my favorite art I’ve created – a zentangle elephant. 🙂 It took me FOREVER to draw this, as you can probably guess. XD I had just purchased a new fine-tip pen at Hobby Lobby, and it was great for detailed work like this!

elephant art (1280x1024)

I also made a mandala in a similar style. I think it turned out so pretty! It’s probably the best mandala I’ve done, because usually they get pretty skewed. XDmandala art

Another mandala.. YIKES sorry for the terrible picture. O.o

art 3

Next up we have a little design I made for Livy’s magazine here (which you should totally check out!)

encourage (700x525)

I’m also submitting this for the next issue of her magazine. 🙂 I had a lot of fun with this one!

art 12 (1280x706)

I’m not really sure what I think of the next piece… I guess it’s neat, but it didn’t really turn out like I was hoping. :/ Oh well! Waterfalls are really hard to draw, aren’t they?

art 5 (1280x854)

OOH! I love this drawing I did of the lovely Aria from purrfectlyinspired.com. It’s the best portrait I’ve done, I think!

drawing (1280x1040)drawing 2 (1280x1040)

Okay, here’s something I drew from you guys’ suggestions: a fairy. In the spirit of the post, I shall show you the two horrible renditions it took before I got it to turn out right. XD (I used them for testing pens and stuff, in case you were wondering. 😉 )

Actually the first sketch isn’t that bad… just, well, a sketch.

DSC_1880 (853x1280)

AHH SO CREEPY. Her face got smudged and made it look even more awful. XD

DSC_1882 (853x1280)

But finally that bad art enabled me to draw a good piece. Muuuuch better, yes? I hope you like the fairy, Sylvia!

art 4

So for this one I was trying to draw something interesting without using any reference photos. Well I sure paid for that with how her legs turned out. XD YUCK. I could NOT get the foreshortening and angle and all that stuff right, so I just called it good enough and finished the picture. 😛 I like the rest of it, though!

art 1 (799x1084)

Some little water drop doodles from this amazing tutorial. You might think these are good until you see what I was looking off of. XD

art 6 (853x1280)

Here’s a (pretty rough) concept sketch I did for a possible WordCrafters cover. What do you think? Do you like the idea of all the characters lined up like that? Also I need a better tagline. XD Tell me your ideas! I’ll also do a more in-depth post when I’m ready to start editing WordCrafters.

art 7 (999x1280)

Heh heh, do you like my play on words? Unfortunately the ink ran all over the place, but it’s okay because it wasn’t my best picture or anything. (It looks like the horse is shooting ink out of her nostrils. XD)

art 8 (985x1280)

Ooh, this one is funny! I made this birthday card for my sister Megan who loves donkeys.

art 9 (847x1280)art 10 (1280x998)

DSC_1906 (853x1280)

Ha ha! Yeah, I had fun with that. Although it took quite a while to draw the donkeys inside the card. O.o

Next we have a page of doodles. I picked a couple of random colors from my watercolor brush pen set and drew this. WHY DO THINGS LIKE THIS ALWAYS TAKE SO LONG?!

art 11 (942x1280)

Here’s some bad-ish art. It got kind of all blurred together. :/

DSC_1891 (1280x853)

BWAHAHA this did NOT turn out right. Poor, failed pineapple. XD

DSC_1893 (853x1280)

Lookee it’s a cute wittle hedgehog from Clara’s suggestions! 🙂

DSC_1995 (1280x853)

Random watercolor doodle…

DSC_1997 (853x1280)

Blech, some more bad art. I very much dislike the color scheme – or lack of one.

DSC_1998 (853x1280)

I’m really happy with this one, though! I thought it turned out pretty cute. 🙂 My watercolor brush pens are so fun for drawings like this.

DSC_1999 (853x1280)

A doodle/test page.

DSC_2000 (853x1280)

I haven’t finished this one and don’t know if I will or not, but this was drawn from a photograph of dew drops on a flower.

DSC_2003 (1280x853)

I really like how this turned out! My best horse picture so far, definitely. It’s a picture of my friend K. A.‘s horse, Gadget.

art 10

few more pages from my Bible journal… (would you like to see another whole post about it?)

ATC 1 (1135x1280)

ATC 2 (1280x903)

ATC 3 (1280x943)

And lastly, we have another rendition of the moonrise galaxy painting I did here.

moonrise galaxy (1280x948)

And that’s about it! As for the bad art, some of you are probably rolling your eyes and saying, “Allison, seriously? You call that bad art?” Well I’ve done worse art – believe me. I just didn’t show it. XD Anyway, I know the feeling. I see “bad art” from other artists and I’m like “WHOA I wish I could draw that well!” And so you see, it depends on your perspective. Your bad art might be more beautiful than you think. ♥

I hope you enjoyed this post! Which pieces were you favorite? Do you have any suggestions for what I should draw next?

***Allison***

P. S. My county fair post is coming up next! 🙂

Amelia Island Part 2

Hello hello! I’m back with part two of my pictures from our vacation with friends. 😀 (See part one here.) I love these photos, and I hope you do too!

Let’s start with the crabbing photos. We went out to a marsh to catch blue crabs with some crab traps, chicken pieces for bait, and some coolers. It was SO much fun and we ended up catching quite a few crabs – around 8! They didn’t amount to much once we cooked them, but the few crumbs we had tasted good. XD

We drove around everywhere in golf carts, which allowed you to take in all the beautiful scenery. ♥ Isn’t it gorgeous?

DSC_1339 (1280x853)
A tree where we parked the golf cart. I love all the Spanish moss! It looks so mysterious.

Besides crabs, we also caught some various other water creatures like fish and shrimp. (But we didn’t keep them.)

We caught two of these fish, I believe, and the second made a weird grunting/clicking sound. O.o It was so odd and funny!

DSC_1312 (1280x853)

Doesn’t this look like a tropical angelfish or something? We were all amazed to catch it.

DSC_1320 (1280x853)DSC_1323 (1280x853)

Shrimp look hilarious with their long antennae. XD

DSC_1316 (1280x853)

And of course, the crabs. Look how blue they are underneath – so pretty!

DSC_1314 (1280x853)
We put the crabs on ice to calm them down. 😉 Some of the little guys were quite feisty!

Now for more beach pictures. 🙂

I couldn’t decide whether to delete this picture or not… it’s kind of neat, but sort of not. 😛

I absolutely LOVE these pictures of my little sister Carmen! (I seem to be saying “I love this picture” to almost every picture, huh? XD)

AHHH I LOVE IT!

The sunset over the beach was gorgeous! Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of it at the peak, but I did get these.

Lastly, I took a bunch of pictures on the way home, especially of the enormously, voluminously puffy clouds (wow that was fun to say).

And that’s about it! I hope you enjoyed the huge conglomeration of photos, dears. 🙂 Do you have a favorite(s) or is it too overwhelming to pick?

Also, HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY to my sister Megan! If you haven’t already done so, hop on over to her blog and send her a belated birthday note. 🙂 (By the way, she also posted the pictures that I took of her on the sister’s photoshoot here.)
