Time for some puppy love! 😀 My aunt has German Shepherd puppies and although German Shepherds are not my favorite kind of dog, these lil’ guys are ADORABLE!
We stayed with some friends for part of our vacation, and they also had an adorable, friendly puppy named Nelson. Aww!

P. S. Hayley and I are renovating Art Lab! We’re adding a few more artists to the group and starting it up again. We’re also going to collect and repost all of the Art Lab posts onto the official Art Lab blog, so you can scroll through the posts with ease. 🙂 You can follow it if you like! The first day we drove up to our campground and that’s about all. (We had some car trouble unfortunately, so it took us a few hours longer than we thought. 😦 ) The second day we actually got to see Niagara Falls! We took the Maid of the Mist tour, and guys, it was AMAZING! I loved it so much! If you ever go to Niagara Falls, you have to do that. When you’re down there in the boat you can really feel the wind and mist and power of the falls. Be prepared to get wet, though – they give you ponchos but you still get very soaked! I was afraid the mist would drown my camera, but it didn’t, thankfully. 🙂
After that we went over to the Canadian side and looked at the falls from there. I would have been fine with just being on the American side, but oh well. It was neat to see it from a different perspective.
Verdict: LOVED IT!

P. S. This is the first time I’ve used Google Drive for my post! (You know, from Clara’s free space tutorial.) It certainly took longer than normal, but I’m getting the hang of it. Thanks again, Clara!
I’m back! 😀 We just got back from our vacation and it feels so good to be home. (And now I can blog again, hehe.) We had many fun times and some rather not so fun times, but I haven’t sorted all my pictures yet, so a vacation post will have to wait.
Until then, this Life on the Farm post should hold you over. 😛
Before our vacation our friends came over and we traipsed around on a big barn roof with them. It was lots of fun! The view was great from up there. There’s also this one shiny part of the roof that’s good for sliding on, so we did that a lot, then for some reason everyone started yodeling at the cows (don’t ask me why!). We played some board games on the roof as the sun set, then made the slightly scary descent down and went back home. *Happy sigh* Fun times.

P. S. Oh. My. Goodness. I HAVE 626 FOLLOWERS. SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! I’m so happpppyyyyyyyy! That is like… impossible. Right? Yes it is… no it isn’t! Oh my goodness I can’t even believe it! I wouldn’t have nearly this many if my fairy house post hadn’t been featured on Discover, but it was, and I am so thankful. I’m SUPER astounded that this even happened! I mean, why choose me out of so many wonderful bloggers? Thank you, Lord, for giving me this wonderful, exciting opportunity, and help me to use it to your glory. ♥

P. S. We almost couldn’t use our camper for the trip. An axle broke this morning, and Dad couldn’t seem to find a replacement. At breakfast Dad prayed for wisdom about our trip, and before he even finished the phone started ringing. The guy calling had an axle for sale! It was really amazing – kind of a mini-miracle! Thank you, God!!

The Story of the Feather Boa:
We put a feather boa around Jinx, and Casey got SO scared of him! She must have thought he was an awfully strange, fluffy, pink-and-black creature. XD It was hilarious!
Casey tried to poke the strange creature to see if it was scary, and it was!
Jinx:
Here’s another GIF of Jinx with the feather boa. He was trying to clean himself but it didn’t work too well. For some reason I think this is hilarious! XD Poor guy. 😛
Jinx’s yellowish greenish eyes looked so pretty against the green leaves that I had to take pictures! XD

Kittens and Violet:
Remember the barn kittens from this post? Here they are again! My cousin adopted one of the gray and white kittens, and I think farm employees took the other ones.
Violet’s eyes are really pretty! I edited them to make them stand out even more.

I haven’t posted about farm life for a while, so I’m going to start a series about places on our farm! Today we will be touring the lovely cotton pile. XD We don’t play there much anymore (maybe we wore it out when we were little), but when company or visitors come over, they love it!
So what exactly is this cotton pile? It’s (sadly) not a heap of fluzzy cotton wool, it’s just the cotton seeds. But they are still quite soft with leftover cotton fuzz. Why do we have a huge pile of cotton seeds in our barn, you ask? Actually, it’s for cow feed. Blech! I don’t think they would taste especially good, but the cows seem to think so. XD

In the olden days the cotton filled most of two big barn rooms! But sadly, there isn’t that much any more. *Sniff* 😛

Welcome to the long awaited room tour! Goodness gracious this post took a while to get up. I have been wanting to write this for weeks!
Guys, you are going to love the before and after. SQUEEE it’s so pretty!! It looks like a totally different room. Are you ready? Here we go!

Isn’t that simply amazing? Both of those pictures were taken at the same spot, but they look completely different!
We had 30 year old wallpaper in our room, so we had to take down the wallpaper, plaster over nicks in the walls, sand the plaster, then paint the ceiling, trim, and walls. It was a lot of work – it took a whole week – but it was so worth it! I absolutely love the paint color and the decorations!
A few notes before we proceed to the room tour: I didn’t list the prices for every single thing in our room, just most of the stuff we got recently. Also, the prices are rounded.
Now we can get to the good part! Let us begin with the bed section. First off, I love the bedspreads! They are simple but beautiful, and their simplicity makes them versatile. (If you’re wondering, my bed is on the left and Megan’s is on the right.)

These lovely pillows tie in our canvasses and handmade quilts with the bedspreads.

I’m very proud of our upcycled wooden crate. XD It was broken and rough to begin with, so we wood-glued it together, cleaned it, sanded it, and painted it. It works perfectly as a bedside stand!

Megan and I each decorated a canvas to put above our beds. The first canvas is mine and the second is Megan’s. 😉 I painted mine with watercolor and gesso and wrote in the words with Sharpie and marker. Since Megan’s canvas had more words, we printed them out in a nice font and transferred them to the canvas using this tutorial. (The pencil rubbing part is the transferring part.) Then Megan Sharpied over the words and added confetti from the paint chips we collected while searching for a paint color.

We got some really nice ombre curtains from Walmart. They’re opaque enough that we don’t need blinds, but they’re also sheer enough to let in light. And if you’re wondering, that speck in the hanging plant is a little stuffed owl. XD

The mantel is one of my favorite spots. I adore the fox print especially! We spray painted the flowerpots gold to add a extra pop.

I also love this next spot. It’s sophisticated yet cozy. The white faux-fur cube is one of my favorite purchases – it’s a comfortable seat and a storage chest!
Funny story: My littlest sister was writing a wish list while we went shopping, and she wrote “fuse cyoob” for the fuzzy cube seat. Isn’t that adorable? You have to love little kid spelling. XD

Moving on to the dresser… The bunting banner I made myself (remember this tutorial?), and I also hand-decorated the gold rocks around our room. We spray painted smooth river rocks gold, then I either hand lettered words on them with Sharpie, or dotted them with white paint. They turned out really well!

And lastly but not leastly, we needed some new rugs since we took our big blue carpet away. Behold!
