We recently took a trip to our old farm for several events, including attending a funeral, swimming, and going out to eat. Remember how one of our friends had a barn dance at our shop last year for her birthday party? Well, this year we did it again and it was SO much fun! The shop was a mess, so it was a good thing we had a dance motivating us to clean it up. 😛 I took plenty of pictures throughout the preparation and actual party, of course, and I hope you guys enjoy browsing through them!

Since I enjoy reading them, I thought I’d better get on it and make one myself. 🙂 Instead of documenting an actual entire day, I reconstructed what a normal day looks like for me. Well, okay… many days I’ll do errands, go to church-related events, get together with friends, etc. but this is what I usually do on “stay at home days.” 🙂 I hope you guys enjoy!

All these photos will be in black and white because I thought it fit with with the age and structure of the subject, but don’t worry – it was foggy and dreary, so you’re not missing much color. 😉

The other day, I asked my sister if she wanted to do a photoshoot together, but she thought it would be best to wait till it was sunny instead of foggy. I thought, “Oh well, I guess I’ll have to make my own sunshine.” 🙂 So I gathered up my camera and tripod and spent a couple of hours taking “selfies.” HAHA! It was really fun, although extremely difficult sometimes to get a clear picture with the self-timer.
I also discovered that it’s hard to give a real smile when you’re just staring at a camera and not a person. And that I really don’t know what to do with my hands when I’m posing. :[] Despite my un-photogenicness, I hope you enjoy seeing the poses and locations and editing techniques like I do when I browse other people’s photoshoots! 🙂 Continue reading

A little while ago, the marvelous Amanda came up with a 12-day photography challenge for her photographer friends and herself. I was one of the aforementioned, and it was a lot of fun! Several of us contributed prompts and then posted our photos from each day on a Google Doc, so all the other participants could see them as well. I enjoyed intentionally creating photos instead of just snapping a picture of whatever was already there, like I usually do.
