How to Make Eeyore Happy {+ More Pet Pictures}

Hello, dears!

I haven’t posted pet photography in a while, have I? I decided to remedy that today since you guys seem to quite enjoy pet posts – as do I. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I recently took several pictures of Eeyore, my sister’s pet donkey, as well as some cute pictures of our yellow lab and some… interesting photos of one of our bunnies, hee hee. Enjoy the fuzziness!

Firstly, Eeyore. Despite her name, she is indeed a “she.” Just so you know. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Eeyore has gotten much tamer since the last time I posted about her, and now Megan can ride her!

donkey 1

Well, let me rephrase that: Megan can sit on Eeyore’s back. I don’t know if you could call it riding when Eeyore just stands still and eats grass most of the time.

donkey 2

Grass is one of Eeyore’s favorite things.ย Especially grass on the other side of the fence. *nods* The grass is always greener, you know. She’ll even put up with wearing this annoying blue contraption and being attached to an annoying rope if it means a chance of grass.

donkey 3

We had some friends over the day Iย  took these pictures, so Eeyore was the center of many attentions for a while. And the recipient of many offerings of fresh-plucked dandelions.

donkey 4

Sometimes she deigned to receive them, and other times she just sniffed and went back to her beloved grass.

donkey 5

In case you’re wondering, Megan still very much loves donkeys. Heh heh.

donkey 6

My youngest sister, Carmen, found the donkey brush and groomed Eeyore while she ate. Donkeys are apparently prone to rolling in dust. (Side note: we actually have dust now instead of mud! Or we did… It’s raining as I type.) Her fluffy coat gets so dusty that large brown clouds will float over you if you pat her too vigorously. :’D

donkey 7

So yes, grass makes Eeyore happy. What makes her unhappy? Being separated from it, of course. There inevitably comes a time when that exasperating human tries to shut her up behind the fence again. Eeyore will not stand for this outrage. Actually she doesย stand for it, and very firmly and stubbornly, too.

donkey 8

Eeyore is trying to teach Megan not to keep repeating the same mistake, but Megan doesn’t seem to be a very fast learner in that respect. Eeyore doesn’t find it as amusing as the humans seem to.

donkey 9

At last, after much pulling and tugging, Megan always succeeds in getting Eeyore back to her home. After she put her back this time, we stopped by the rabbit pen and brought out poor, forgotten Olaf for some attention and pictures. Ironically, Olaf is also a female with a misfit name. Beginning to see a pattern here? XD

donkey 10

By this point you can probably tell why Olaf doesn’t get much attention or pictures. She mostly gets laughed at, poor thing. I suppose she can’t help being a meat breed rather than one bred for beauty, but still… SHE CRACKS ME UP.

donkey 11

I’ll spare you more creepy-pink-eyed-rabbit pictures and move on to our last subject, Maggie. Finally, a pet with a gender-appropriate name! XD She’s normally quite sweet, despite her rude behavior in this picture. ๐Ÿ˜›

donkey 13

One day when I was taking pictures, she nonchalantly hopped up on this stump and looked noble. Or tired. Maybe both.

donkey 14

Aww, I love this picture! Such a cute pup, don’t you agree?

donkey 15

That’s all the pet pictures I have for you today, my friends. I hope you enjoyed!

Which photo was your favorite? Donkeys, bunnies, or dogs? Do you have any strangely-named pets?

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

  1. I bet Megan LOVES “riding” Eeyore! I know she wanted a donkey for the longest time ๐Ÿ™‚ Excuse me if you’ve already said this, but what’s the story behind her (Eeyore)

      1. xD Well, I was thinking maybe like where/how you got her? Like were you planning on getting a donkey, or was it a spur-of-the-moment thing? Sorry, I have a lot of questions ๐Ÿ˜‚

        1. Oh, okay! Well we got her at this donkey farm thingy where the guy had a bunch of donkeys in a pasture together. And yep, Megan had been pining away for a donkey for a long time, so it wasn’t very spur-of-the-moment. ๐Ÿ˜› I think she maybe looked on Craigslist? I’m not sure, she could answer you better than I could.

  2. AHHHH EYYEEOORREEE! I’m afraid Megan has turned me into a donkey-lover as well. XD I can’t WAIT to come meet Eyeore in person! Whenever that may be. *sighs* Your pictures are so good! I espeiclaly like the sunny Eyeore pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚ What time of day did you take those, because the lighting is really good! Also Tiger loves rolling in dust too. Which we also have a lot of.

    1. YESSSSS! Ha ha, really? XD XD Wow, I forgot you haven’t met her yet… BUT YES. Aww, thank you! I like them too, especially since I hardly had to edit them. ๐Ÿ˜› Let’s see… actually it was about noon! O.o Maybe 11:30 or thereabouts. Ha ha, BAD KITTY. But dust is such a novelty, isn’t it? XD And it’s better than tracking mud everywhere.

      1. Yeah…yeah, that’s the best! That’s normally how it is for me, though. Hmmm, maybe it was slightly overcast? Either way, they’re lovely. True! But I do hate how it gets in my contacts easily.

  3. Aww…so cute!!! Haha, Eeyore the grumpy donkey! But it looks like y’all still had fun. Aww, Maggie! I NEEDZZ HER! She is A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!! โค๏ธโค๏ธ

    1. Hee hee, thanks, Sarah! Eeyore is usually pretty happy, but she starts being more like her namesake when Megan tries to take her back. XD Yep, we sure did! HA HA! I know, right? Maggie’s so cute. โค

  4. Ooo those pics are wonderful! XD I wish I had a pet donkey! I think my favorite is of “Maggie” sticking out here tongue! We raise goats and all the boys we are keeping right now kinda have interesting names we have….
Tozer, Lincoln, Spurgean, and we had Washington. I don’t know if those count as strangely named animals!

  5. AWWWW EEYORE! She’s so amazingly FUZZY. ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s so neat that Megan can (sort of) ride her! Eeyore actually reminds me a lot of Calvin in those photos where she’s refusing to let Megan lead her – he does the same thing when he’s wearing a halter. XD I think my favorite photos from this post were the close-up of Eeyore’s face and the last one of Maggie on the stump. ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, YES, we most certainly have strangely-named pets, namely Told-You-So and Uncle the goats and Runty the cat. XD

    1. EEEEP I KNOOOW! Her winter coat suits her well. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I know, right? Ha ha, really? I can imagine that because I know from experience how cows will do that. XD So funny! Thanks so much for telling me your favorites – I think those may actually be my favorites too! HA HA, WOOOOW. Told-You-So is one of the strangest names I’ve heard of. O.o ๐Ÿ˜›

  6. This is so funny and cute! My dog is named Chewy, short for Lord Chewington Charles Lastname the first. He’s so dainty and fancy, he won’t go outside when the grass is wet for fear of dirtying his paws! XD And he also refuses to jump on top of anything, we have to carry him around all the time! ๐Ÿ˜› My friends’ fishes (RIP, fish) were named Rosie (a boy) and Little Blue (a girl), and my other friend has a fish named Madame Buble who happens to be a male. LOL!

    1. Hee hee, thanks! WOW, now that is an unusual name! XD XD Chewy sounds so funny. HA HA, well it seems pretty hard to tell the gender on a fish. ๐Ÿ˜›

  7. Eeyore is so funny! Just a tip from my experience with horses: if you can get the animal’s hooves moving by bringing them around in a circle, then it’s a lot easier to lead them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Aww, what a cute dog! She looks a lot like our dog, Sophie. ๐Ÿ˜€

  8. So cute! Even Olaf, as long as I donโ€™t look at her eyes. ๐Ÿ˜ We got some new chickens about a month ago, and the weirdest named one is… Buttered Bread. My 3 year old little bro named him. ๐Ÿ˜†

  9. Hmm…donkeys. Great pics! How very stubborn Eeyore is xD Well, we do have a dog named Wedge which is a little odd (he’s named after a star wars character ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ฌ). He does tend to wedge himself in between you and whatever you’re trying to do, though :/ xD

  10. I really enjoyed this post! Hopefully Megan will “learn” from her mistakes with Eeyore, lol. XD You have a good sense of humor, Allison!

We had a cat named Billy Boo once, but due to HER untamable nature, we had to give the poor cat away. ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. I’m so glad you liked it, Camille! HA HA, Eeyore sure hopes so. ๐Ÿ˜› D’aww, well thanks.

Oh dear, poor Billy Boo. XD I have to say, that’s a pretty unique name as well. ๐Ÿ˜›
