Of Friends & Wildflowers {a Photoshoot}

Hello friends!

Last weekend I had the privilege of attending the most beautiful retreat at my friend’s family’s house. We had a fancy tea, went on pretty hikes, did some crafts and activities, and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery.

I have lots of pictures to share, but I wanted to start with a photoshoot the girls did after our tea. We were supposed to dress in fancy clothes which ended up being so fun to photograph. Plus we found the perfect spots to shoot in that looked straight out of a fairytale!

I hope you enjoy these delightful portraits. ❤

We were kinda all taking pictures at once so my selection is a bit scattered. I took probably the most pictures of Megan, remembering the sisters photoshoots we used to do. And because she’s such a pretty model! Ah!

This isn’t a picture of a friend, but I couldn’t resist including it here because it’s quite a memory, ha.  Right after the left picture above Megan jumped back with an OHHHH. She had almost touched this horrifyingly large spider. If you don’t like spiders you may want to scroll quickly past this next photo.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE! The setting and light are just perfect with Adrian’s eyes.

Love Adrian’s cute laugh in the first picture, hehe.

This is Emmaline, or Emma. She’s practically a model…?! And her dress was SO FUN TO PHOTOGRAPH.

I got a lot of pictures of Aria with her camera, but here are a couple I snagged with my own camera. Her outfit with those wildflowers… straight out a storybook!

Megan took a couple shots of me with my camera. Adrian refreshed my curls with the curly girl method and generally helped me with my hair – thanks Adrian! I wore one of the beautiful barrettes Aria’s mom made and gifted to each of us. These photos were a collaborative effort, ha.

Aria took these photos for me and did a fabulous job, as usual. Hehe my sequins are making me glow. 😛

A couple more of me, featuring the traditional besties picture Aria and I always take when we see each other. 🙂

Back to everyone else. I love how smooth and bright and beautiful this picture is, ah!

That sun-soaked wildflower background… ❤

We all touched the flowers quite a lot in our various poses, haha. It looks so pretty though!

Mopje, the happy golden retriever pup, got a little too interested in the photoshoot and had to be dragged away from Emma’s perfect dress.

Love this shot with Emma’s stunning blue eyes!

Next we moved to another fairytale photo location: the spillway near the pond. Those stone stairs and the reflection… ah, it was so beautiful.

I had fun making some darker edits with these pictures. Dramatic, no?

Another dramatically beautiful photos of Adrian running off into the depths of the woods (or actually “galloping,” as Aria instructed for optimum pictures, haha).

I love black and white laughter portraits. 🙂

Aria, the head photographer. 😀 Emma and I are also photographers but Aria was the most experienced.

And here’s another of Aria’s pictures so you can see all of us girls together. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed those golden shots as much as I enjoyed taking them! Photoshoots with friends are so much fun. Stay tuned for more pictures from this lovely weekend in future posts!

Which photo location was your favorite?

Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!

  2. Wow, those photos by the pond are gorgeous! The lighting is so dramatic and moody. I also love the location and lighting for the one of Adrian running through the forest. Beautiful pictures and beautiful ladies. 🙂
