Sophia Joy {8 Months}

I’m back with another adorable Sophia photoshoot! Sully was home when I took these, so it turned into sort of a daddy-daughter photoshoot – and I’m not mad about it. 😛 I hope these sweet pictures bring some sunshine and smiles to your day.

Starting off strong with her her brand new 4-toothed smile!

She got distracted from the camera when she heard Sully come out. Sophia is always so excited to see her daddy. 🙂

I feel like she knows what a daddy is for already – she loves climbing all over him and “roughhousing” with him by pulling his nose and hair. He obliges with exaggerated reactions and she has lots of fun, haha.

HAHA THE HAIR.

A few sweet details.

This is one of my favorites from the shoot. She obviously feels very comforted when I hold her, but feels really safe with Sully too. ❤

Playing hand patting games. So cute.

Sully’s face whenever she snuggles with him… ❤

She’s checking to make sure no one’s gonna steal her daddy, hehe.

She kept interrupting sweet snugly moments with her hilarious drool-bubble-blowing. She does this all the time to entertain herself and it just cracks us up. Especially because she always pairs it with the same “mmmwahh!” sound. XD

Her hair is getting long enough to blow in the breeze and IT’S THE BEST. Hahahaha.

Our beautiful baby girl. ❤ Those eyes…!

Studiously attempting to pick off one of Daddy’s buttons.

Sully thought we should document how well she can hold herself up now. She’s not truly crawling, but she can scoot herself around on her tummy and loves to move. In fact, I recently put her on her back in the middle of the bed and she somehow scooted to the edge, fell off, and bumped her head, poor baby. 😦

Doesn’t she look so much like Sully in this picture?

This looks like an old vintage photo or drawing, you know? So cute.

Drool bubbles, dark lashes, and her “hard stare.”

We’ll end with Sophia concentrating on a buttercup I gave her. I love watching her pick things up with her tiny fingers – but it’s only a few seconds before it goes in her mouth, haha.

This month with Sophia: a new cheesy grin, trying new foods, staying up past her bedtime hanging out with family, trying on little outfits I sewed for her, sleeping on her tummy for basically the first time in her life, finally learning to roll both ways, having untimely blowouts, learning NOT to bite her mama, stroller walks, visiting neighbors, skipping naps at church, enjoying “Daddy Time” when Sully comes home from work, an impressive variety of mouth sounds and skills, and lots of time outside on a picnic blanket.

This month she’s finally gone back to consistently sleeping through the night, which has been a HUGE blessing to all of us. I am SO grateful. She’s still pretty fussy and high-maintenance – or else a complete angel. There’s not much in-between. (But she will usually cheer up when introduced to new people – or a camera.)

The chiropractor found that her neck and spine is extremely tense at an area which controls motor skills (like crawling) and emotional regulation. I was like AHA, YOU DON’T SAY. XD So hopefully getting her adjusted there will help tone down her… intensity. But even if not, we wouldn’t trade her for any other baby in the world. We love you, Sophia!
