A Day in My Life as a Homemaker

Hello friends!

Today I thought it would be fun to give you guys a glimpse into how I balance my work and homemaking. The problem is, I don’t have very set routines. I have two part time jobs with inconsistent schedules, meaning my day rarely actually looks like the one neatly laid out in this post. Isn’t that how it always goes though?

Regardless, I thought you might enjoy hearing how I fill my days as a newly married wife. If that sounds interesting, read on!

Packed Lunch Ideas {Affordable, Easy, No Microwaving!}

Hello friends!

Some of my favorite childhood memories involve packed lunches. During harvest, my dad and brothers often worked the field all day and into the night to get the crops in before bad weather – and that meant they didn’t come in for meals. My sisters and I would help Mom pack brown paper lunch bags and thermoses of tea or water, then drive through the bumpy stubble of the cornfields toward the tractors. There was something so special about eating a hot dog on an old blanket by the side of the field with my family.

These days I pack my husband a lunch almost every workday for him to eat on the road. No microwave, refrigerator, or break room means I have to get creative. If you need cold packed lunches for work or school, this post is for you!

Practical Ways to Prepare Yourself for Marriage

Hello friends!

Sully and I are coming up on our 6 month wedding anniversary, ah! It seems like a momentous milestone. Obviously it’s also a very small one and I’m still quite new at this whole wife thing. However, you guys seem interested in this side of my life and I wanted to make a post where I could share some things that have helped me in my marriage without pretending like I’m an expert now or something. I landed on this topic since I’ve at least been married long enough to start seeing how aspects of my life before marriage affected my life today.

All that to say… today I wanted to share a few things I’ve been pondering on the subject of living in preparation for marriage. This post is mostly written for young women who are currently unmarried or living at home, but it also applies to young men in a similar fashion. And if you’ve been married longer than I have and can actually speak from experience, I’d love to hear your advice in the comments! 🙂 Either way, I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts.
