A Cheerful Sunflower Field Photoshoot

Hello, my friends!

The sunflowers are back! Remember this sisters photoshoot Megan and I did last year in Dad’s sunflower field? Well, we’re planning on doing another photoshoot tomorrow, but I wanted to post these summery flower pictures in the meantime.

If you need a little sunshine in your day, keep reading! Also feel free to use these photos for your wallpaper or lockscreen if you so desire. Okay. Onwards!

Heidi & Shayne {Wedding Photography!}

Hello, my friends!

Back in May, I had the privilege of second-shooting a friend’s wedding! This was my first time photographing a wedding and phew, it was a lot. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple than Heidi and Shayne for my first time, though. Their sweet spirits, Christ-like love, and laid-back demeanors shone strong the entire day despite the excitement and stress I’m sure they were dealing with.

I feel like I should say, “Heidi and Shayne, enjoy some of my favorites from your special day!” But this isn’t a wedding blog, so… I guess whoever’s reading this, enjoy some pictures of my friends getting married! This post features the sweetest couple, a plastic bug, a mysterious water bottle, a vintage car, and some of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken.

Ready? Set? Go!

In Which We Set Up a Flower Truck

Hello, my friends!

Ah, I think you guys are really going to enjoy the pictures today. Remember Dad’s aesthetic mint green truck from my birthday post? Turns out it makes a wonderfully eye-catching flower truck! Mom has been growing so many flowers this year that we have too many to display ourselves, so she started a little flower stand at the end of our road!

One day we hope to sell flowers at a farmer’s market or in a better location since we’re kinda in the middle of nowhere, but it’s been fun letting people pick up the lovely flower bouquets Mom makes for now. Enjoy some cheerful, summery pictures!

The Art of Memory Keeping {Art Journal Inspiration}

Hello, my friends!

Do you ever collect random bits like brochures from trips, pressed flowers from your garden, and stickers you got in a letter, and then not know what to do with them? There’s a word for that stuff: ephemera. And there’s a place to put it: in a journal!

Instead of throwing it away or keeping it in a messy heap in a closet, I love preserving those memories in one book. I’ve been art journaling (or junk journaling or scrapbooking, depending on who you ask) for a couple years now and I absolutely love going back and looking through old entries.

If that sounds fun but you don’t know where to start, keep reading! Today I’m going to give you guys a peek into my own art journal to give you inspiration for creating your own. If you enjoy artsy stuff, you can make your journal a lot fancier and prettier than mine. If you don’t, you can simply stick in ephemera and photos and write a bit about them. It’s totally up to you.

Okay, enjoy this little dose of journaling inspiration!

Hello, my friends!

Yay, it’s another art dump! This time, the sketchbooks I’ll be showing you guys were ones I used for teaching art lessons this past school year. Now I’m on summer break from teaching all but a couple of private art tutoring students, so I can share some of my favorite pieces with you guys!
