Fields & Fences {Sister’s Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

A couple of weeks ago, I did a senior photoshoot for a friend of a friend’s son (well THAT was confusing), and practiced the day before with this little mini shoot of my youngest sister. 😀 Some of these poses worked better for a senior guy than a little girl, obviously, but she was the only volunteer, so I just went with it anyway. XD

Even though I didn’t use all the poses and locations in the real shoot, we had a lot of fun walking around the farm at golden hour and taking a bunch of photos. I hope you enjoy a sampling of the result!

Birthday Harvest {2019}

Hello, dears!

Yayyyyy, it’s here – my annual birthday gift post! 😀 Before we begin, the obligatory disclaimer: I’m not posting this to brag in the least; I’m posting it because I like to read these posts and you guys seem to as well… also because I wanted another chance to say thank you once again to my dear friends and siblings and parents who nearly overwhelmed by your generosity this year. I’m so, so grateful to have people like you, who are far more precious than even the amazing gifts you gave me. 🙂 ❤

Alright, let’s begin! I tried to randomize the gifts a little bit, so I won’t be going in any particular order. Sit back and relax, because this might get a little long. 😛

Minty Fresh {Field Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

Before I start this post, I just wanted to say thank you all SO much for your lovely birthday wishes! I had a wonderful day filled with love from friends and family, fun gifts, delicious food, a lovely walk in the woods, and a movie night. 🙂 I can’t believe I’m 19. O.o And yes, I will hopefully post about my birthday gifts next, because I know you guys enjoy those posts (as do I). 😉 So stay tuned!

But for now, I am SO excited to show you guys this photoshoot! I looked out the window one morning and saw that the wheatfield across the lane looked silver. It had just rained and the sun caught the bedewed wheat in a breathtaking way. I dropped everything and took heaps of pictures of all the little wonders I found at the edge of the field -including a large amount of ladybugs and water drops, which made for some amazing photos!

Have fun browsing through these minty-hued pictures!

A Day in the Life…

Hello, dears!

“Day in the life” posts are so fun to read, aren’t they? Since I enjoy reading them, I thought I’d better get on it and make one myself. 🙂  Instead of documenting an actual entire day, I reconstructed what a normal day looks like for me. Well, okay… many days I’ll do errands, go to church-related events, get together with friends, etc. but this is what I usually do on “stay at home days.” 🙂 I hope you guys enjoy!

A Flock of Feathers

Hello, dears!

On Easter weekend, we finally did it. We brought back seven hens to start a little flock at our farm. We’ve been enjoying our break from the poultry houses we owned at our old farm, but we decided seven chickens wouldn’t be that much work, and we go through about three dozen eggs a week, so… yeah, they will come in handy. 😉

All the hens are pretty young, some in the pullet stage and some almost ready to lay, so we haven’t gotten any eggs yet. But it’s been fun taming them and watching them… and taking pictures. 😉 They’re so much prettier and nicer than the boring old broiler-breeders we had at our poultry houses, ha ha!

I hope you enjoy meeting our new “pets,” my friends!

How to Use Pressed Flowers

Hello, dears!

Lately I’ve been pressing a bunch of flowers and using them for different things, so I thought I’d do a post about it and hopefully inspire you guys to preserve some beauty on your own. Also I wanted an excuse to take pictures of the very aesthetic results. 😛

Today I’ll go through some simple tips for pressing flowers, as well as a few beautiful ways to use them and some mini DIY tutorials. Let’s get started!

Sea of Gold {Sisters Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

AHHH, I am so, so excited for this post! Can you believe this is the first sisters photoshoot in almost a year?? (You can see the last one here – yikes, I think our photography skills have improved since then.)

A couple of days ago, I was taking my brother lunch at our other farm down the road when I met with a breathtaking sight: one of the fields was nearly COVERED in buttercups! It was practically solid yellow in some parts. O.o As soon as I got home I told Megan about it and she was like, “Ooh, we should do a photoshoot!” Just what I was thinking. 😉

We went over that evening at golden hour, but sadly those pictures didn’t turn out the best since it was already getting dark when we went. :/ So we came back later one morning and oh my goodness, I absolutely LOVE how these photos turned out! I hope you guys do too.

Pebbles the Puppy

Hello, dears!

I hope you all had a wonderful, joyous Easter – I sure did! We spent the weekend at my grandparents’ house, where I took a bunch of photos of their adorable new St. Bernard puppy, Pebbles. She’s so happy and cute and rambunctious.

I think you guys are going to love these pictures! Puppies are hard to resist, and St. Bernard puppies are certainly no exception. ❤

So, ready to meet Pebbles?

Party at the Park

Hello, dears!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to a gorgeous park near where we live to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was kind of like an arboretum, with elaborate gardens and landscaping, as well as more natural looking areas. Everything was in full bloom and full life and ahh, it was gorgeous! The perfect place for picnicking and exploring.

About half the photos I’m going to show you guys today are nature photos – blossoming trees, waterfalls, etc. The other half is not as beautiful but WAY more amusing photos of my friends jumping rope. And this isn’t your ordinary kind of jump rope, guys. XD XD

Ahem, now that you’re prepared, let’s get to it!
