Happy Valentine’s Day, lovely readers! For your Valentine’s Day present, here is this photoshoot I took a few days ago of some gorgeous roses that were my mom’s Valentine’s Day present from my dad. (Sorry about the pink words, you pink-haters, but hey! Valentine’s Day only comes once a year… XD )
I had entirely too much fun with this photoshoot, as you can see by the gazillions of pictures. XD But they were to beautiful to resist, especially when I misted them. Two notes before you dive in: #1. Hover over the pictures with your mouse to see any captions. #2. Click on a picture to enlarge it. If you click on one, it will let you scroll throughthe rest of them in that collage, enlarged. Okay, let’s do this!

Whew! That was nearly thirty photos! XD I hope you don’t see roses swimming before your eyes all day now…
Thanks for reading! (And looking.)

P. S. This is a funny tweaked Valentine’s poem my dad told us a while ago. (I’m not sure if he made it up or not.)
“Roses are red,
Violets are purple,
Sugar is sweet,
And so is maple surple.” XD XD
P. P. S. Yesterday we had walnuts on our cereal and it was actually really good! Okay, that was random. XD
It snowed again! It was only a tiny bit, and it’s pretty much all melted now, but I got some really pretty pictures that I wanted to show you. So it didn’t snow in vain. XD Get ready for a bunch more snow pictures! (And an extra-special one at the end!)
{Click on any individual photo in a collage or column to enlarge. I mean to enlarge the photo, not you. XD}
We have a Nandina bush in our yard that is sprinkled with clusters of bright red berries. The red berries looked gorgeous against the white snow!
(I edited this image. ↓)
Snow on our clothesline…
Pigeons on the silo…
Dogwood branches…
Just snow…
Excuse Maggie in the background. 🙂
And now we come to my pride and joy: a picture of an actual, single snowflake! I know it’s not the best quality, but I was very happy that I could get a picture like this! Isn’t it beautiful? God made sure to put beauty in even the smallest snowflakes – tiny pieces of ice that melt at the slightest breath of warm air. What delicate pieces of art!
*Sigh.* Snow is so beautiful. But then again, it is also cold, wet, and slushy when it melts. So I’m glad we don’t have snow year round. 🙂 Which picture was your favorite?
YES YES YES YES YES YES! It finally snowed here! 😀 And it snowed like two feet – which is pretty much for us. The snow is so pretty and white and smooth and sparkling and clean and cold and bright and icy and beautiful and… okay, I’ve run out of adjectives. XD
What’s that you say? Oh. Of course I took pictures – how else would I survive looking at all of that pretty snow? XD What? You’d like to see them? Perfect! I was just getting ready to show you… (I took so many pictures I wanted to show you that I had to make a bunch of them into collages. 🙂 )
First, some pictures of just snow.
Now, onto snowy birds! A lovely cardinal pair came to our birdfeeder in the snow, and I took some pretty pictures of them. I especially like the first collage. The female:
And the male: (Along with a picture of several fellow birdseed eaters)
And some miscellaneous landscape, house, and deck snow pictures…
Look how much snow we got – this is a beforeish and after picture of a little picnic table we got.
I did a really fun mini photoshoot with my sister. (For this collage and the next, you can click on a photo to enlarge it.)
I also built a snow cave. (Well, I actually built two, but this is the only one I took a picture of.) I love building snow caves!
Straight, stately, snowy silos. 😀
Ahhh! Snow looks so pretty on evergreens and rose bushes, doesn’t it?
My dad just got a snow-blower recently, and he actually got to use it! It wouldn’t have been too surprising if he didn’t get to use it this winter, but he did!
Phew! Last collage. Another rare thing that happened is that our pond froze over! We slid around on it a little bit before it snowed, and then shoveled paths through the snow.
Wow – that was a LOT of snowy pictures! I think somewhere around a gajillion – does that sound right? Are you frozen yet? Tired of snow? What were a few of your favorite pictures or collages – if you aren’t too tired of this post yet. 😀
Hey guys! In my last post I said, “stay tuned for mystery pictures!” or something like that, and here they are! At first I thought I would post them another day, because… IT’S SNOWING HERE! LIKE, A LOT! LIKE TWO FEET OF SNOW! Ahem. So, of course I took pictures, but I decided to post about that another day, because I’ll probably be getting even more pictures before it stops snowing. So anyway… Here they are!
Oh, right. If you don’t know how to play, here are the rules: I will show you a few close-up pictures of ordinary objects that don’t look so ordinary when they’re close up, and you try to guess what they are. Just comment below the post with your guesses, and I will reveal the answers and the winners next Saturday, the 30th! (Update: see the end of the post for answers!) Don’t worry if your comments aren’t showing up, because I don’t approve guess-comments until I reveal the mystery. And you can see my other mystery pictures post here.

Guess away! I can’t wait to read all of your guesses – correct or not! (Actually, it’s probably more fun to read incorrect guesses, just to see what you thought they were. XD) Whenever I post mystery pictures, I always wonder whether they were too easy, too hard, or just right. I’m guessing these might be a tad too easy on most, but hard for some, so I hope it turns out to be just right!
Yep, we went on a walk around our farm the other day with our friends, and sadly enough, there was no snow. 😦 The last couple of years we’ve had really early snow (at least for us), like in October and November, but this winter there has been nothing but a puny little flurry. 😦 Anyway, I still got some pretty pictures, whether there was snow or not, so here goes!
Some of the trees on our farm have huge bracket fungi on them.
These are dried Jimson-weed pods. They have quite the thorny complexion, don’t they? In summer, Jimson-weed has a sort of morning glory like flower. A note here: Jimson weed is actually poisonous, so don’t go around stuffing it into your mouths – not that anyone would want to. XD
A simple twig looks pretty up close.
This is a very tiny, shriveled persimmon. We have a little persimmon tree on our farm that annually gives about four dried up fruits which are almost always to high to reach. Once we actually got to taste one, and it must not have been ripe because, boy was that bitter! It made your mouth dry up like a cotton ball. Blech! But then for Christmas Eve supper we found two “real” persimmons at the grocery store, and those were actually pretty good! They tasted kind of like a mild, sweet melon or something. Plus they were about ten times bigger and plumper than any of our persimmons. XD Have you ever had a persimmon?
One of our friends. 🙂
Group picture!
I took a picture of Maggie running and it turned out really funny!
We walked up a wet gravel road, and Maggie left cute pawprints behind her. I edited this picture on my camera so you can see them better.
We went into a woods, and Maggie must have sniffed out some creature or other, because she started furiously digging under a rotting stump. She dug a hole so big that her whole head went practically underground! It was really funny, and we stayed there watching her for a long time. But she never caught anything. XP
And last but not least, we took this walk when my sister Megan (center)first got her new camera, and my little sister (left) and my friend (right)were watching her work it. I edited this picture (as you can see!) on my camera with the “Painting” setting. Doesn’t it look neat?
I hope you enjoyed my ramblings and picture from a winter walk! Which picture was your favorite?

P. S. Don’t worry, I will do more Photos from of Old posts, but I’m saving them for a little later because the next ones are from springtime.
P. P. S. Wow! I seem to be doing a lot of P. S.’s on my posts lately, don’t I? 😀
Happy New Year! Okay, get ready for a long post, because today I will be reviewing my 2015 bloggy year, doing an award, and telling you one of my New Year’s resolutions. Ready? First up, my blog year – it was a great year, and a HUGE year, at least compared to last year. Taking into account the fact that I only blogged 7 months last year instead of 12 this year, still, the stats increased A LOT. And thanks to all of you, I now have almost 60 followers! SQUEEEE! 😀 😀 Here are the yearly stats for this year and last year:
Last year (in orange)
This year (in orange)
And here is the little WordPress year in review thingy they sent me:
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 3,500 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 58 trips to carry that many people.
Now for the award. I don’t usually do awards, but I decided to do this one because it wasn’t just random questions, and I thought it was interesting to see when other people did this. So… I was nominated by Genna and Mercer Creative. Thank you so much!
1. Thank the person that nominated you 2. Start a blog post and answer the questions below 3. Add 1-3 of your Favorite\Best blog photos 4. Nominate up to ten people
1. How long have you had a blog? I started this blog in May of 2014, so I’ve had it for about a year and a half.
2. Why did you start blogging?
I kind of forget, but I think it was probably because my sister started with her school program, and it made me want to start a blog too.
3. Do you like photography? I love photography! 😀
4. Did you start your blog on your own?
Yep. Well, my sister and mom helped me.
5. Why do you like these photos so much? It was kind of hard to choose just 3 of my favorites, so since it’s a review of 2015 anyway, I’m just going to do some of my favorite photo pictures and posts from 2015. XD
I think one of my all time favorite posts was this dandelion post. Here’s a picture from it:
I just love how crystal clear and beautiful the pictures turned out. I also love this Lily (The Flower) post – I love dewdrops!
A few of my favorite bunny posts are this funny bunny post, these two Lily (the rabbit) posts here and here,
OK. Now for one of my New Years’ Resolution (the news part of the title). I want to start an Etsy shop! I’m going to be selling things I make online there, including polymer clay animals and other polymer clay things, and maybe stuffed animals like this one. But I need more ideas! I would greatly appreciate any suggestions with what you would like me to make that you would buy. If you need some ideas from what I’ve already made, click on the category “My Creations” on my category cloud on my blog sidebar. Thank you!
So, that’s it! Thanks so much for a great bloggy year, readers!
I thought I’d do a mystery pictures post about Christmas-y things, since it is only 11 days until Christmas! (*Gasp!!* Eleven days! It hardly seems like December at all.) See my other mystery picture posts here, here, here, and here.
OK, here’s the deal: I will show you 5 mystery pictures. Four are related to Christmas, and one is not. If you think you can solve the mysteries, comment below with your guesses. In the near future I will reveal all of the mysteries, and show you the points tally for each person who guesses. I won’t approve the comments for this post until after I have revealed the mysteries, just to keep everything fair and square, so don’t worry if your comment isn’t showing up. Alrighty, are you ready?! Let’s do this!

I’m afraid they’re rather easier than normal, but have fun anyway! I can’t wait to see your guesses. 😀
We woke up today to a beautiful blanket of… nope, sadly not snow… frost. Even though it wasn’t snow, the frost was still amazingly beautiful – it coated everything in sparkly ice! Of course, I took lots of pictures. Here are some up-close pictures of the ice crystals – aren’t they gorgeous?!
I found some blades of grass that had frozen dew drops hanging to the ends!
And here are some pretty red Nandina berries with ice crystals on them. The sun was shining on a few berries in the bottom picture so that it looked like they were on fire!
This brown old leaf was beautified by a rim of silver frost.
Which picture was your favorite? Have you had frost or snow yet?
He-he. I’m doing a post about mold. I know it’s gross, but it’s also interesting, so bear with me! We were supposed to look at mold under the microscope for school, but before we did that, I took pictures (my camera is almost like a microscope it can take such close-up pictures). So now you know I didn’t just randomly pull some mold out of our fridge and take pictures of it – ’cause that’s what you were thinking, right? 🙂 😀 Okay, on to the pictures!
Ok, I’m done with the pictures, you can look now. Hey! I saw that face… 🙂 Well, it was your fault for reading this to begin with. But I’m sure glad you did read this, even if it was disgusting!
