I don’t know about you, but I spend WAY too much time on the computer. I could give a lot of good excuses, some of which are legitimate, but still, the fact remains. I do love being outside and especially exploring our land with my family, but I don’t have much motivation to go outside by myself because it feels like such a waste of time when I could be doing many more useful things inside. Anyone else??
But. Yesterday I was tired of being on a screen and it looked beautiful out there, so I decided to give myself a break and take my camera and just walk around. And it was lovely. Sometimes a breath of fresh air is useful in itself, right?
I hope these pictures can inspire you to take a screen break (after this post, of course 😉 ) and find some beauty where you live!

Today I have some more lovely light photography for you! Instead of a photoshoot at golden hour, I took these in the morning. Sometimes I go outside to feed the rabbits or something and find too much beauty to leave unphotographed, which naturally means I postpone my other plans and take some pictures before the light changes. 🙂
This time, instead of editing my photos as usual, I decided just to let the pictures shine as they are – terrible pun intended. I did edit a few very minimally, but for the most part these are straight out of the camera!

I’m back with the promised golden hour photoshoot today! My sister Megan received a beautiful sunflower shirt for review from this shop, so of course we had to get a bunch of pictures for her post. (Also I literally just realized I copied her title after I finished writing the post. :’D ) We had fun finding different photo locations and attempting to think of different poses, heh heh. Today’s post is going to be sort of an odd mix of photos which were taken on the same two evenings, so I decided to lump them together. 🙂 My family and I were mulching our flowerbeds about a month ago, and it happened to be during my favorite time to photograph, a.k.a. the golden hour. Knowing me, you’ll not be surprised that I couldn’t resist photographing many things (including pet donkeys, magnolia trees, and random weeds) in the golden light. 😉 Enjoy browsing through this summer evening!

Last Saturday evening I decided to wander around our farm and take some pictures, and I’m so glad I did! The woods and fields looked so peaceful and gorgeous in the golden light. ❤ Since the lighting was perfect, I focused on adjusting the settings in the moment to capture beauty without having to edit it later.
I absolutely love how the photos turned out, but instead of just saying that after every photo, I’m going to share some of my favorite music interspersed throughout with a link to a YouTube video for each of them. 🙂 I mostly listen to Christian music, but I also have a few pop, country, classical/instrumental, and folk songs on my playlist. Pretty much whatever strikes my fancy. XD They’re all clean, though; you don’t have to worry about that. 😉

A couple of weeks ago, I did a senior photoshoot for a friend of a friend’s son (well THAT was confusing), and practiced the day before with this little mini shoot of my youngest sister. 😀 Some of these poses worked better for a senior guy than a little girl, obviously, but she was the only volunteer, so I just went with it anyway. XD
Even though I didn’t use all the poses and locations in the real shoot, we had a lot of fun walking around the farm at golden hour and taking a bunch of photos. I hope you enjoy a sampling of the result!
