BIPBC #6: Epic Puddle Splashing + Random Pics

Howdy, and welcome to Allison’s BIBPC entry #6! XD The theme this time was “Action”! Behold, action! (I’m entering the first picture.)

Ha ha, isn’t that great!

Story behind the picture: I took this a couple of years ago after there was a flash flood which resulted in ginormous puddles near our creek! (Another time, I don’t know if it was that time, we floated down the flash-flood-swollen creek in an inner tube. Which proceeded to pop. XD XD XD ) My siblings thought it would be neat if I could take pictures of them splooshing through the water, and they were right! In the picture I’m entering, Megan and Jefferson are glorying in mud-puddle bliss. Look at the expression on Jeff’s face! (If you can see it.) Pure joy. 😀 Oh, and I think it was this same flash-flood when the boys drove our three-wheeler through the water. XD Ahh, good times.

Since this is a pretty short post, I thought I’d add a few more random photos I took recently.

About time for another one of these, eh? These photos were taken in the summer of 2013.

P. S. Recently my littlest sister Carmen has been determined to learn how to fly. XD XD XD She asks Mom if it’s possible for people to fly, and Mom explains that God just didn’t make humans to able to fly. But she thinks that maybe she’ll be the first person ever to do it! XD XD XD It cracks me up! But it’s adorable too. 😀 Hey, we all wish we could fly, right? One can always dream…

Almost Snow – December Frost

We woke up today to a beautiful blanket of… nope, sadly not snow… frost. Even though it wasn’t snow, the frost was still amazingly beautiful – it coated everything in sparkly ice! Of course, I took lots of pictures. Here are some up-close pictures of the ice crystals – aren’t they gorgeous?!

I found some blades of grass that had frozen dew drops hanging to the ends!

And here are some pretty red Nandina berries with ice crystals on them. The sun was shining on a few berries in the bottom picture so that it looked like they were on fire!

This brown old leaf was beautified by a rim of silver frost.

Fall Hiking: Part 2

Next up! A hike in the mountains. This is a spider we saw at the very beginning of the hike, but he was scared of my camera so he ran away and hid under his favorite leaf. 🙂

Below is a rock that looked like someone cut a heart on it, but I’m pretty sure it was natural.

Does anyone know what this weird red clump-of-berries-on-a-stem is called?↓

Here’s a strange fuzzy-looking fungus – isn’t he so cute? 😛

Now for some gorgeous fall trees!

There was an overlook at the top of the trail where you could crane your neck (and camera) to see a small but very steep falls. I edited this picture because it wasn’t very good to begin with.

For some reason there were also a lot of ladybugs at the overlook. I took a few close-ups of this pretty lil’ gal resting on my jeans.

And that’s it! I hoped you enjoyed the virtual hike – and trust me, you got off easy – that trail was TIRING!

Fall Is In The Air – And On The Ground!

Fall has arrived here at our house. You can easily tell if you look at our gorgeous trees. Like always, the pictures aren’t as good as the real thing, but they give you a pretty good taste of it.

There are a lot of fun things to do with fall: Make pretty leaf-and-acorn pictures or arrangements (inside or outside),

Make leaf piles (of course),

And let your bunnies play in the leaf piles. This is my rabbit, Honeybunny. She loved burrowing through the pile and hiding in the leaves. Is she not ADORABLE?
