It was the kind of evening where all you have to do is point your camera and click the shutter to create a masterpiece.
My family hosted a church potluck in perfect May weather, and knowing we’d be right next to my mom’s flower garden, I wisely brought my camera along. I am so glad I did, because this ended up being one of my favorite nature photoshoots in a while!

One of my favorite things about this season is how the sunlight soaks everything so deeply that it almost makes the colors glow with a light of their own. I had so much fun bringing that out in these photos from when I took a walk in the woods and found so many lovely tiny flowers and baby leaves to show you guys.

Have you ever been out walking in the golden evening when the world is soft and quiet and the honey sun coats everything?
Have you ever seen the brown and dull things glow around the edges, gilded by the light, or a sullen cloud with a silver lining and just… it just looked beautiful, even if it was the saddest looking thing the last time you passed by? Sometimes the light makes flowers on the trees where nothing exists but brown buds, shining and illuminated with warmth.
What I am asking is, have you ever seen the sun transfigure ordinary things into something glorious?
I have seen it happen. And I know, whatever happens, I cannot quite give up hope…
