We went to a Lake Eerie beach on our vacation right as the sun set. It was absolutely gorgeous!
I love this picture with the lighthouse and the orange sky!
Whoa! I don’t think the sunset was quite THIS bright in real life.
♥
I love sunsets and beaches, so a sunset on the beach equals twice the love! 😀
Now for my BIBPC entry. The category this time was “Worth It.”
Story Behind the Photo: My friend is posing for a picture after we had a big shaving cream fight with her and her siblings. It was so. Much. Fun. Even though we and the lawn got super messy (we had to take showers and change, as you can imagine), and the smell of shaving cream was everywhere for a while, it was definitely worth it!

P. S. Oops! You guys were right! Two of the flower pictures in the garden postwere the same. I changed it now. 😉 If that affected your guess, please feel free to guess again!
I was out taking pictures of the garden this morning when I had an idea. It’s garden season, so let’s play a little garden game…
The Rules:
Your job is to match 9 different flowers to the 9 different vegetables they produce. For instance “tomato and __ (insert number)” match, or “#1 and #__ ” match. One vegetable can match a flower from either collage. BUT! I’ve included one extra flower that does not match any of the vegetables to make things more interesting. 😛 Next Monday I shall reveal the answers and the winners (see below). It’s kinda similar to my sister’s “Name that Flower” game. As in Mystery Pictures, I won’t approve guess comments until I reveal the answers.
*Update* Oops! The 4th and 8th flower pictures were actually the same. Sorry about that! I fixed it, though. Thank you for telling me, Rapunzel!
The Points:
1 point for each pair you match correctly
1 bonus point for correctly telling me which flower is the trick flower
2 bonus points for correctly identifying the trick flower
And no going outside in your garden to check your answers! (Or looking them up on Google. (Or Bing, Megan.) *Shakes finger*)
Ahem.
I’ll tell you the vegetables, and you tell me their matching flowers:
Okra
Cucumber
Green Bean
Tomato (I hope you knew that already)
5. Lima bean
6. Lettuce
7. Asparagus
8. Corn
9. Butternut Squash
And here’s the extra flower which may either match one those vegetables up there, or it may be the trick flower. Who knows?
I hope you enjoyed this slightly strange, random game; I know I’ll enjoy reading your guesses! 😀
Do you have a garden? Do you like gardening? What is your favorite of those veggies up there?
Hey, guys! This post shall have various and random things in it. 😛
BIBPC
I’m participating in Megan’s photo contest, BIBPC, so here are my entries for the first and second category. (Since I’m her sister I got away with showing her the first one without posting it – so it’s late but it doesn’t matter. 😉 )
#1: Fuzzy
Story behind the photo: We went to look at a friend’s Saint Bernard puppies (there were 11!) and I took a gazillion photos of cuteness itself. This picture is a sneak peek of a future post. After playing with the puppies for a while, they were thoroughly exhausted and flopped down to sleep. HE IS ADORABLE, OKAY!
#2. Dew drops
Story behind the photo: I got this picture when we were on vacation. It was just after a rain, the lighting was perfect, and the picture turned out really well! The daisy looks happy, don’t you think?
Art Lab
Art Lab is back, new and improved! We added some new artists to our team, which is now composed of Hayley, me, Megan, Clara, and Anika! We will take turns posting on our personal blogs, and then copy our post to the Art Lab blog (which we’re redesigning). We’re also going to have a gallery page where you can send in pictures of your art inspired by Art Lab!
Swap Shop
Speaking of art, Hayley is doing a really neat art contest – with prizes! Check out her post for details. And if you like my entries, I’d love if you’d vote for them! 😀
Blog Photos
I know that some of the photos on my blog haven’t been showing up. You know why? I uploaded them from Google Drive, per Clara’s amazing free space tutorial, but unfortunately Google changed Google Drive recently which means that the photos won’t work! BAD GOOGLE! Thankfully I can still have free space by creating another random blog and copying and pasting my pictures from there. Phew!
Time for some puppy love! 😀 My aunt has German Shepherd puppies and although German Shepherds are not my favorite kind of dog, these lil’ guys are ADORABLE!
We stayed with some friends for part of our vacation, and they also had an adorable, friendly puppy named Nelson. Aww!
And lastly, a mini-photoshoot of our dog, Maggie. ♥
Our county fair opens in about two weeks, and I’m so excited! These are my entries for the photography section of the fair. (The fair categories are in bold). The links will take you to the post where the photo was first featured on my blog. Enjoy!
There we go – a few photography highlights from 2016. 🙂
Which photo was your favorite? Do you have an annual fair where you live? Do you enter things in it?
**Allison**
P. S. Hayley and I are renovating Art Lab! We’re adding a few more artists to the group and starting it up again. We’re also going to collect and repost all of the Art Lab posts onto the official Art Lab blog, so you can scroll through the posts with ease. 🙂 You can follow it if you like! Hopefully there will be an Art Lab post up tomorrow. 😀
The first day we drove up to our campground and that’s about all. (We had some car trouble unfortunately, so it took us a few hours longer than we thought. 😦 ) The second day we actually got to see Niagara Falls! We took the Maid of the Mist tour, and guys, it was AMAZING! I loved it so much! If you ever go to Niagara Falls, you have to do that. When you’re down there in the boat you can really feel the wind and mist and power of the falls. Be prepared to get wet, though – they give you ponchos but you still get very soaked! I was afraid the mist would drown my camera, but it didn’t, thankfully. 🙂
Look at the tiny blue people!
On the Maid of the MistFluffy water!
A rainbow over the observatory area
After that we went over to the Canadian side and looked at the falls from there. I would have been fine with just being on the American side, but oh well. It was neat to see it from a different perspective.
A bird was getting buffeted about by the waters, but it didn’t seem to mind.
Verdict: LOVED IT!
Have you ever been to Niagara Falls?

P. S. This is the first time I’ve used Google Drive for my post! (You know, from Clara’s free space tutorial.) It certainly took longer than normal, but I’m getting the hang of it. Thanks again, Clara!
I’m back! 😀 We just got back from our vacation and it feels so good to be home. (And now I can blog again, hehe.) We had many fun times and some rather not so fun times, but I haven’t sorted all my pictures yet, so a vacation post will have to wait.
Until then, this Life on the Farm post should hold you over. 😛
Before our vacation our friends came over and we traipsed around on a big barn roof with them. It was lots of fun! The view was great from up there. There’s also this one shiny part of the roof that’s good for sliding on, so we did that a lot, then for some reason everyone started yodeling at the cows (don’t ask me why!). We played some board games on the roof as the sun set, then made the slightly scary descent down and went back home. *Happy sigh* Fun times.
The view from the roof:
The clouds were really neat that day.Isn’t that beautiful? The corn is so lush – it’s way taller now than when I took this picture.
Ahem. Sorry about the intruding manure pit on the right. XD
Roof sliding:
Yodeling at the cows…
And now for the silhouettes, which I edited with PicMonkey for maximum silhouette-ness.
I love these next two of my sister!
I love this one too!
And this next one has to be my absolute favorite. Thank you, friends and siblings for cooperating with me on this one. 😉 I might even enter it in the fair! What do you think?
Which picture was your favorite? Does climbing on barn roofs sound fun to you or not?

P. S. Oh. My. Goodness. I HAVE 626 FOLLOWERS. SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! I’m so happpppyyyyyyyy! That is like… impossible. Right? Yes it is… no it isn’t! Oh my goodness I can’t even believe it! I wouldn’t have nearly this many if my fairy house post hadn’t been featured on Discover, but it was, and I am so thankful. I’m SUPER astounded that this even happened! I mean, why choose me out of so many wonderful bloggers? Thank you, Lord, for giving me this wonderful, exciting opportunity, and help me to use it to your glory. ♥
P. P. S. Okay, this may be a little anti-climatic after all that, but Loren, it’s your turn for WordCrafters. I simply cannot wait to read the chapter you cook up – I know it’s gonna be great!
