Bursting into Bloom {Golden Hour Photoshoot}

It was the kind of evening where all you have to do is point your camera and click the shutter to create a masterpiece.

My family hosted a church potluck in perfect May weather, and knowing we’d be right next to my mom’s flower garden, I wisely brought my camera along. I am so glad I did, because this ended up being one of my favorite nature photoshoots in a while!

If you need a strong dose of color and sunlight, read on. ❤

These buttery yellow snapdragons glowed in delicate golden rows.

I love the complexity of colors and shades in this one.

Mom still has poppies from growing them for Megan’s wedding. So vivid my camera can’t even. 😛

I always like photographing little insects who are enjoying the flowers as much as I am.

Yep, bachelor’s buttons are still one of my top favorite flowers. I couldn’t choose which photo to take out, so you get to enjoy all three. 🙂

The contrast of bright white and bold purple…!

Such tiny, fragile sprays of bloom.

These cupped bells spilled over with so much light they were practically ringing with music.

Craspedia always make me smile. They’re irresistibly cheery and whimsical.

I believe these are poppies too – giant ones towering over the other flowers.

Daisies are so innocent-looking, aren’t they?

One of my favorites for the soft cottage feel of this white and pink yarrow. Also the tiny, blurry bug suspended in midair.

What a lovely, flower-filled view for the picnic-goers!

We’ll end with a row of happy sunflowers.

Ahh, the light in that photoshoot brings me so much joy. I hope it did for you too! I’m quite blessed and spoiled to have a mother who grows so many beautiful things. 🙂

Which picture(s) did you like best? What is your favorite flower?

Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!

  2. Oh, how beautiful!!!! Your mother is so talented to grow things well. And you’re talented to capture the flowers’ beauty and cheeriness.

I don’t think I could pick a favorite! Some of them I knew the name, but not the appearance and vice versa, such as bachelor’s buttons- they’re darling!

Thank you for sharing a lovely post, Allison!

As our forclosure is on June 4, I might be sometimes late in commenting on future posts. Our family is hoping to visit the library on some days to use the internet. 🙂

    God bless you, friend!

    1. My mom is indeed extremely talented at gardening and flower-arranging! Thanks so much. ❤

Aren't bachelor's buttons so cute? Indeed.

So sorry to hear about the foreclosure, Valentine. I will keep your family in my prayers as you go through this transition. Don't worry about the late comments but know I always enjoy hearing from you, my friend. ❤ Blessings to you as well!

      1. Thank you so much, Allison! I think it’s the prayers that are keeping us sane. We have good days and bad days. We plan on sleeping in our vehicles, so would especially appreciate prayers for safety. I can say that during this time, my heart goes out to the homeless all the more.

Thank you again, friend! Praying for you and your pregnancy too. 🙂
