Fall Fest 2021 {Event Photography}

Hello, my friends!

Has anyone else gone to multiple Fall Festivals this year? I feel like there were so many of them! And they were all fun! I was especially looking forward to this Fall Fest since our friends who host it always do such a good job of filling the day with fun games and contests and food and barn dancing. I got to be an event photographer again and I’m so happy with how the pictures turned out! Here’s a little sampling of them.

Enjoy some pumpkins, bistro lights, and cute kids!

MacRae’s Senior Photoshoot

Hello, my friends!

I got to take senior pictures for one of my friends earlier in October! I’m so happy with how they turned out. We had a lot of fun because it’s pretty much impossible not to have fun with MacRae. I loved capturing her contagious smile, goofy pose ideas, and beautiful spirit. Enjoy some pretty golden hour portraits featuring a kissable pumpkin, a serious new trend, a helpful wooden post, and a fall unicorn.

Onward to the pictures!

Mountain View Wedding Photography

Hello, my friends!

Thank you all so much for entering the giveaway in my last post! I’m excited to announce the winner. 🙂 But first, a little about this post…

I recently had the privilege of photographing another friend’s wedding! Well it wasn’t exactly a wedding since they got married earlier this year but were just now celebrating with a big reception because of pandemic restrictions. The venue had the most beautiful mountain view and I had so much fun taking pictures of the newly-married couple, the guests, and all the lovely details of the day. Enjoy!

Now, before we get started, the giveaway winner! Congratulations to…

Experiments in Food Photography

Hello, my friends!

This post is going to be a tad strange because it’s full of dramatic photos of vegetables. Hehe. I had a lot of fun making it, though! I tried using ordinary props like an old sheet and a plastic bucket to create interesting pictures and you know what? I think it worked! You guys can give the final verdict after you finish the post. (Also read to the end to meet my new friend. 😛 )

Ready for some experimental food photography? Let’s go!

Etcetera #16 {Alpacas, Potatoes, & River Adventures}

Hello, my friends!

Welcome back to another scrapbook of random photos and behind-the-scenes shots from the past few months! I’m including some phone photography this time, because… these ducks deserve to be on my blog. *nods* I’ll keep the introduction short since we have a lot of photos to get through, but you guys know how this works. Warm up your scrolling fingers and enjoy some cute animals, pretty skies, bright flowers, etcetera!

I Got a New Camera! {Forest Photoshoot}

Hello, my friends!

My friend Aria recently sent me her Nikon D7200 camera because she couldn’t sell it and also because she’s amazing. 😀 I haven’t upgraded my camera in five years (see my… interesting first photos with it here), so I was thrilled that Aria kinda forced me to get a new camera. Otherwise I’d probably go on using my old, comfortable Nikon D3400 forever.

Anyway, I tried it out and definitely noticed an improvement in the quality, clarity, and focus of these photos. I’m curious to see if you guys notice too or if it’s just me as the photographer. Let’s find out!

Enjoy these lush photos from a late-summer walk and some Maggie-the-yellow-Lab-cuteness!

Indoor Photoshoot {Black & White Edition}

Hello, my friends!

When I was taking pictures for the last post, I kept coming across interesting patterns and scenes which would look perfect in black and white. I ended up with too many of those to squeeze into the first post, so I figured I’d collect them all here for you guys. B&W photos are a great way to capture interesting shapes and textures if the colors and lighting aren’t that great (or even if they are). I had to resist making all the photos monochromatic once I saw how nice these ones looked, haha.

Okay, enjoy some low-key photos of random details from around our house!

Messy Desks & Peacock Feathers {Indoor Photography}

Hello, my friends!

Yesterday I tried an experiment: I walked around our house, attempting to turn random, normal things like an unmade bed and a cluttered table into pretty subjects. All the indoor photos you see online seem to have perfectly clean and tidy backgrounds, but I wanted to take pictures of the way our house looked without cleaning it up first. Was the experiment a success? I don’t know – you’ll have to tell me after you see the pictures!
