After the Rain: Garden Photography

Hello, dears!

These kinds of posts are some of my favorite to make, as you might know if you’ve been around here a while. 😉 Today I have a bunch of pretty nature photography for you, including butterflies, flowers, and raindrops found in our garden.

I took these photos the day after a glorious, answer-to-prayer rain finally came to end a summer drought. When you’re a farmer whose main key to success (the right weather) is totally out of your control, it teaches you dependence on God like nothing else, and also makes you so excited about rain that you’re riveted to the window, the weather app, and the rain gauge like they’re the most suspenseful movie ever. 😛

Everything was so beautiful and fresh the next day that I kinda just dropped everything and took a bunch of pictures. XD I hope you enjoy the results!

Vacation 2019 {Part 2)

Hello, dears!

I’m back with the second part of our recent vacation! I’m super excited about this post because 1) I got tons of pictures of the most gorgeous surprise party + my best friend Aria, and 2) I MADE A VIDEO! I sneakily took clips of most of the things we did that weekend and compiled them for Aria after I got back. I hope you enjoy watching that at the end of the post as well as browsing through the photos. 🙂

But before you get started, an announcement: My friend Amanda and I are starting a podcast about books! 😀 You can find out more about it and about us by listening to the first episode here. If you ever wondered what I sound like, well now you can know! 🙂 Also go follow Amanda’s blog while you’re at it, because it’s excellent. ❤

Now, onto the post. Please read this on my site for best formatting results.

Vacation 2019 {Part 1}

Hello, dears!

Last week, my family and I went on vacation to North Carolina. We had a lovely time, both staying at our vacation house, and visiting my friend Aria and her family (but more on that next time 😉 ). Today I’m going to be posting about the first couple of days, including some photography from the beautiful space where we stayed and a bunch of pretty pictures I got when we went boating on the lake behind the house. Enjoy!

Blind Rainbow {Aesthetics + Poems}

Hello, dears!

***NOTE: I had to re-publish this a couple of times since WordPress wasn’t cooperating. Sorry if you’ve seen it more than once!***

Anyway. Here’s an interesting question: how would you describe your favorite color to a blind person? It’s HARD, isn’t it? I tried writing a description of my favorite color without the word “purple” in it, and had so much fun that I wrote a bunch more!

Today I’m going to try to describe ten different colors in no particular order using little poems or sketches in such a way that you can figure out which color I’m referring to without me actually naming it. (Did that make any sense?) I’ll follow each sketch with a photo in case you need a hint, so scroll slow if you don’t want spoilers. XD Have fun!

Mule Rides & Sunsets

Hello, dears!

Remember when I used to post sunset pictures all the time? I don’t post them as much anymore, for some reason. But today I’m finally back with some more gorgeous sky paintings, as well as photos from a ride around the farm and more pictures of Eeyore, our pet donkey. 😀 I hope you enjoy this summer evening with me!

Of Donkeys and Magnolia Trees

Hello, dears!

Today’s post is going to be sort of an odd mix of photos which were taken on the same two evenings, so I decided to lump them together. 🙂 My family and I were mulching our flowerbeds about a month ago, and it happened to be during my favorite time to photograph, a.k.a. the golden hour. Knowing me, you’ll not be surprised that I couldn’t resist photographing many things (including pet donkeys, magnolia trees, and random weeds) in the golden light. 😉 Enjoy browsing through this summer evening!

Small Town Explorations {Fourth Fun, Part 1}

Hello, dears!

Today I have some fun city photography for you for a change! I took a bunch of pictures when our cousins came to visit us on Independence Day weekend and we all went on a lovely day trip to a nearby town. As you’ll see, it’s quite an aesthetic and well-kept place, with plenty of excellent photography opportunities – from painted murals to vintage diners. Enjoy this little walk about town!

A Walk in the Wildflowers

Hello, dears!

My sister Megan and I planted a TON of flowers this year. We were skeptical at first about whether they’d work since we hadn’t tried wildflowers here before… but wow, did they grow! We now have two little wildflower patches overflowing with blooms, plus a longer stretch of flowers near the end of our family’s garden. And, knowing me, you’ll not be surprised to hear that I have taken tons of pictures. 😉

I’ve narrowed down some of my favorite pictures to show you guys today, including a goodly selection of macro photography. I hope you enjoy these bright and colorful beauties at the golden hour!
