Remember the seasonal playlist + aesthetics posts I used to make in the old days? Well, I was inspired to make another one this year just for autumn. Autumn colors are just barely peeking out around here so I had to scavenge my yard closely for these pictures. 😛 But the weather is cool and crisp and fall is definitely in the air.

You know how winter is so brown and gray and dead-looking that it gets kinda sad after a while? Well, I decided to challenge myself to find beauty in that by photographing a bunch of dried weeds, hehe. It was honestly fascinating to notice the structure and form of old growth – the bones holding up last year’s color, as it were.
This was a fun experiment and I hope you guys enjoy the result!
AHHHHH. GUYS GUYS GUYS, Sully proposed to me! And I said yes! I’M ENGAGED. We’re both thrilled and life is crazy and wedding planning is slightly overwhelming, but WOOHOO! I don’t usually use multiple exclamation points BUT I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD RIGHT NOW!!
Ahem. I’ve been waiting for such a time as this to tell you guys the story of how Sully and I met. It’s a hilariously memorable tale (especially the first part), and now I can supplement it with how he proposed! I HAVE A FIANCÉ. HELP. Okay, I need to settle down…

This post is going to be a tad strange because it’s full of dramatic photos of vegetables. Hehe. I had a lot of fun making it, though! I tried using ordinary props like an old sheet and a plastic bucket to create interesting pictures and you know what? I think it worked! You guys can give the final verdict after you finish the post. Yesterday I tried an experiment: I walked around our house, attempting to turn random, normal things like an unmade bed and a cluttered table into pretty subjects. All the indoor photos you see online seem to have perfectly clean and tidy backgrounds, but I wanted to take pictures of the way our house looked without cleaning it up first. Was the experiment a success? I don’t know – you’ll have to tell me after you see the pictures!

It’s time for another word art post! I just finished another Bible journal, which means I filled up another notebook with favorite verses. I’m currently going through the Bible one chapter at a time and copying down my favorite verse from each chapter in a notebook. The idea is to write them out in pretty lettering so I’ll have a beautiful collection at the end, but sometimes the lettering is… well, legible and that’s it. 😛 I love how a lot of these turned out, though.

Of course I have to celebrate this milestone some way. *nods* I thought about doing a giveaway, but I wanted it to be something more than one winner can enjoy. So over the past several months I’ve been working hard on creating my first online course! 😀
If you remember from this post, I’m planning to create multiple video courses on topics like art, photography, and blogging. Since I’m celebrating 10,000 followers and I get comments/emails asking for blogging advice, I figured I’d make this first course on what I’ve learned from the past 7 years of blogging. I’m still not an expert, heh, but hopefully something I’ve learned will be of use to you guys.

I have a rather random but fun collection of photos for you guys today. My friend Aria sent each other Dutch licorice a while back since we both love it, and whenever I get Dutch licorice I can’t help but photograph it. 😛 It’s just such photogenic candy! If you’ve never had it before, it usually tastes like regular licorice but a bit saltier and more molasses-like. Click here to see the website where we bought it.

I’m writing my post in a motorhome today because we’re on vacation at the moment! I thought maybe I’d have time to sort through my trip pictures so far and post some, but nope, sadly I didn’t.
