Etcetera 24 {Autumn Views, Apple Bobbing, Many Cats, Etc.}

Hello friends!

It’s time for another round of random photos! I have a lot of fall photography to share with you guys and also a bunch of cute animals. Enjoy this selection of pretty photos and adventures!

We’ll start with the cutest category this time. Bunny, Megan’s cat, has grown so much since I last showed her on this blog. I finally took some cute pictures of her with my camera the other day.

2

A few pictures from back in her kittendom. She was being a mischievous little kitty while my family was gone on vacation and walking on all the counters and sinks. The second picture is her not getting along with Pepper quite as well as usual, haha.

6

On the subject of cats… meet Neighbor Kitty! She showed up out of nowhere as Sully and I were about to take a walk and wouldn’t leave us for the entire day. She was so sweet and cuddly… but the next day she was gone, and I haven’t seen her since. Sadness. 😦

5

My friend’s kittens eagerly came up to me when I went to visit her house. 🙂 Not a great picture, but one day there were 3-5 neighborhood cats in our backyard at once. Maybe they’re relatives of Neighbor Kitty.

8

Moving on from cats now… Basil bunny getting pets from Harrison, Megan’s boyfriend. Sully and I managed to trap one of the pesky groundhogs under our shed and release it elsewhere (before realizing you’re not supposed to do that, oops). He was kinda cute actually.

7

We’ll end with a couple of funny critters from various hay deliveries. Llamas and alpacas always make me laugh. Their teeth, oh my! The owner of this charming mini donkey is teaching her dog to sit/ride its noble steed. She showed us a picture and it cracked me up.

landscapes

I’ve photographed a lot of pretty landscapes through car windows recently, so they’re all slightly blurry. Isn’t the red barn so photogenic though? And I love a good, soft sunset over a cow pasture. ❤

17

Some more landscapes collected while driving back from the girls’ retreat. Golden hour mountains and an entire FIELD of pumpkins.

18

I wish I’d had my DSLR along but these phone pictures still give you a glimpse at the beauty of this mountain overlook. It was such a clear, sunny day that I couldn’t resist stopping for pictures.

19

I always love watching flocks of birds in the evening light on walks through our little town. Another day, I snatched a car-window picture of this glorious sunset.

home

I’m still enjoying the prisms I got for my birthday. They make the west-facing rooms of the house magical in the late afternoon. ❤

My moss terrarium continues to stay happily green despite frosty mornings outside. I LOVE moss, and it makes me happy to enjoy its brilliant colors indoors.

A random photo of a clay dragon I made years and years ago that I hid in the refrigerator pothos because I didn’t know where else to put it. :’D Anyone remember when I was really into polymer clay? I actually have a post about this guy if you want to dive into the archives here.

I’m not usually a huge fan of the color red, but I am when it’s sunlight-on-fresh-produce red. Such a gorgeous glow!

11

A satisfying selection of colorful bell peppers I sliced and put in my freezer.

I love this corner of my bedroom at golden hour. ❤ The foggy tree picture should have gone in landscapes, but ah well. I like how it features a tractor, heh.

nature

Flowers look like whole new plants when the petals fall off and new structures are revealed.

Sunrays through the dusty hay barn walls have always been one of my favorite sights on my family’s farm. I threw a handful of dust in the air to get this shot, to be honest. 😛

A little mushroom I found in the same barn, and an avocado start growing happily in my compost pile?! I planted this guy and he is now sending up new shoots on my dining room bookshelf.

12

A quick return to summer with these illuminated maple leaves. ❤

etcetera

Now for the randomest category. For Megan’s birthday, she really wanted to try bobbing for apples. Most of us tried it but I was not a fan because I got water all up my nose. XD

9

Mom, Carmen, and I took a fun trip to a local produce auction and got quite a lot of tasty and inexpensive homegrown veggies. So much fun!

10

HAHA SULLY’S EXPRESSION. Anyway, he accompanied me to my first ever craft fair! Megan and Harrison set up a booth beside us and we all tried wildly to keep our stuff from blowing off the tables in the chilling wind. Not the best first experience, but I did sell a good amount of stuff so that’s nice. Sully’s favorite part was the adorable fuzzy calf tied up for people to pet.

21

EYE PICTURE ALERT! I know some people find eye close-ups creepy, haha. I’ve always been fascinated by eyes, especially iris colors and patterns. I took this self-portrait as a reference for a sketch.

Another super fun memory was a girls’ thrifting trip with a sister, a sister-in-law, and a friend. 🙂 ❤ While we waited for Chessie we took this selfie after noticing we all had similar hairstyles. So cute. We ended a very successful day of thrifting with a tasty meal at Panda Express, which we were all very excited about.

22

Some fun memories from Sully’s side of the family: decorating wood scraps to make a village with my nephew and helping Harrison with a Christmas lighting job. Megan and I have gotten to help him a couple of times with his lighting business.

13

We’ll end with the bluest hay-delivery sky and a chaotic pyramid of kids after a church Bible study. 😛 It took them several tries to attain such heights.

14

I always love these posts because they remind me of the small beauties and fun memories tucked among my everyday life. It’s lovely to take a moment to look back on recent life and save it on this blog for future years. Thanks for joining me!

Are groundhogs cute? What’s your favorite color? Do you like thrift shopping?

Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!

  1. Groundhogs are not cute, my favorite color is blue, and I love thrift shopping. I remember your clay days, I still have a st. Barnard dog on my window sill and he is as cute as the day he was made

  2. What a fun collection of photos, Allison! Bunny the Cat has such a sweet face, and the groundhog! I know know they cause damage to gardens, but goodness, is he cute, haha!
Such beautiful scenery of the mountains!
Sweet pictures of your family and friends- your mom looks so young!
Congratulations on your first craft fair! So glad it went well!
The past week and a half has been stressful as my dad has not been well; doing better today though. The doctor wants him to get an ultrasound and colonoscopy. Your blog certainly brings joy and I pray God blesses you! 🙂

    1. Thanks Valentine!
Bunny is adorable and even though I hated how pesky the groundhogs were… He was rather cute.
My mom gets that comment a lot. 🥰
      Thank you!
Aww I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I will pray he heals quickly. ❤️ I’m glad my post was able to brighten your day. Thanks for reading!
