Hello, my friends!
This year I decided to make my own planner from scratch – designing and printing the pages, creating a cover, and binding it with my mom’s comb binder. It’s kinda like a bullet journal, but one I pre-made so I don’t have to draw out the layouts again every month. I’m super excited to use such a personalized system for 2022! So, I’ve been working on my journal for months without knowing what it is, exactly. Hehe. It’s sort of a cross between a scrapbook, junk journal, art journal, and… something else. So I decided to call it an “etcetera journal” since that pretty much encompasses the anything-goes flavor of my process. 😀
Today I wanted to talk about etc. journaling as a unique way to preserve memories + a super fun way to be creative even if you don’t consider yourself “artistic.” I have a bunch of spreads to show you, from favorite quotes to simple collages to fun sketches and artwork. By this point you’ve probably seen a gazillion gift guides so no, this isn’t a very original post idea. BUT, this one is a bit different. For one thing, most of these ideas are products I or my family actually use and love, not simply the result of Pinterest browsing. 😉 And secondly, I tried to pick unique and/or thoughtful gifts – not just, like, “here’s my favorite lip gloss and trendy t-shirt.”
Hopefully this will give you inspiration whether you’re shopping for a guy who has everything, a family member you need a really special gift for, or kid that does NOT need any more electronics. 😉

Hello, dears!
Yayyyy, an art post! These make me so excited that it’s hard to refrain from ending the title with an exclamation point. 😛 I still have three or four blank pages in this sketchbook, but I figured that was close enough to make a post on it. 😉 I mostly filled this sketchbook with gouache and watercolor paintings, but added a few sketches and some different art mediums too.

I’m super excited for this post! (How unusual. 😛 ) One of my readers recently requested I write about pen pal questions, so here we are. Asking/answering questions in letters (or in life!) helps you connect with and get to know someone better, plus, pro tip: including questions is one secret to making your letters a lot longer and more interesting. 😉 For some of my pen pals, we insert a list of questions in the letter, and for others, we just ask questions as they come up about whatever subject we’re on.
Today I’m going to give you a ginormous list of 100 questions to ask your pen pal – some serious, some funny, all across a variety of topics and categories. If you’re at a loss for what to write, try some of these! I’ll also stick in a little happy mail/envelope art inspo along the way. 😉 Alright, let’s do this!
