Sketchbook Tour February 2020

Hello, dears!

Hurrah, I’ve finished a sketchbook! This one took me about five months to complete, so yeah… it’s been a while since my last sketchbook tour. 😉 I practiced a lot of portraits and watercolor painting in here and made some pieces I’m really proud of as well as some pages I’m not so pleased with. XD And you guys get to see it all!

So. *rubs hands* Are you ready for some art inspiration?

Today I’ll be showing you a few of my favorite pages from this sketchbook, plus a flip-through video and some of my recent art products. 🙂 Ready? Set, go!

Etcetera #11

Hello, dears!

Yikes. I haven’t done an “etcetera” post in three months – my computer is about to burst with random photos! I went through these again and again and eventually couldn’t bear to narrow them down anymore, so prepare for the biggest photo dump I’ve posted on here in a while. O.o This may require a cup of hot something or a snack, if you’re that kind of person. 😉

Anyway, I’m rather excited about this mish-mashed collection of cute pups, jelly beans, self portraits, foggy photography, tangled plants, adventures, and aesthetic pictures. 🙂 I’ll keep my captions to a minimum so you can just scroll and enjoy.

(Also happy Valentine’s day; I almost forgot. XD) Let’s do this!

Notebook Therapy Reviews + Journaling

Hello, dears!

Yayyy, I’m so excited for my second Notebook Therapy review post! After my first one, they contacted me and asked if I wanted to review more things and I was like… YES PLEASE. They sent me these journals, a pencil case, and a new tote bag for free in exchange for this review, but of course I’ll give you guys my honest opinions on what I review however much I pay. *nods*

If you like aesthetic stationery supplies, bunnies, or the color blue, follow me! 😀

My 2020 Bullet Journal Setup {Plan with Me}

Hello, dears!

I hope you had a wondermous Christmas! I’m scheduling this post because I’ll probably be at one of our many Christmas celebrations with family when you read this. Ahh, it’s going to be great! But anyway…

Yayyy, I’ve looked forward to this post for so long! The other day I finally pulled out my new bullet journal and set it up for use in 2020. 🙂 I did my best to keep the layouts simple, functional, and easy to use, while also making it pleasing to the eye with a pretty purple and gold aesthetic. I can’t wait to show you how it turned out!

Ready for some bujo inspiration? Let’s go!

How to Make Your Own Stamps & Stickers

Hello, dears!

I recently discovered how easy it is to make your own stamps and use them to decorate all sorts of things – wrapping paper, envelopes, stickers, etc. I decided to make a tutorial for you guys so you can enjoy it too! This is a great craft to do with younger kids. I used it as an art lesson for my elementary-aged class just a couple weeks ago and they had a lot of fun creating their own designs! 😀

At the end of the post, I’ll give you guys a little inspiration on how to use the stamps for holiday wrapping and gifts in particular, but stamps are fun any time of the year. 🙂 Let’s do it!

Explore with Me 002 | Sunset Silhouettes

Hello, dears!

It feels like I haven’t done a sunset post in AGES! Remember when I used to do them all the time? I should get back into photographing them more because ahhh! Sunsets! Enough said.

Before we start, a note: I made this series to motivate myself (and you!) to get outside even on days when it seems so much more productive and useful to stay in front of the computer. I don’t know about you, but can only stare at a screen for so long before my brain starts getting frizzy. :’D So! I shall take you with me on a walk around our farm, adding in a little twist or art/photography prompt that you can try too. 🙂

Today we’ll be looking for interesting ways to capture the colors of sunsets other than just taking a picture of the sunset itself. (Future Allison: LIKE FRED! AND AUGUSTUS!)

Ahem. Onwards!

Inktober 2019 {Sketchbook Tour!}

Hello, dears!

Guess what, guys? It’s November! *throws fall leaf confetti* A less obvious fact: that means Inktober, the popular month-long art challenge, is over. In case you’re not familiar with Inktober, you’re basically supposed to make an ink drawing every day for the whole month, using prompts from an official list. And I am happy to say I MADE IT! I used all the prompts, drew (almost) every day, and finished with over 31 pages of inky art.

Even though I dislike how some pieces turned out, overall I like my Inktober sketches more than the ones I did last year, which is great. 🙂 I can’t wait to show you guys what I drew, so let’s get into it!

State Fair, Part 2: {Chainsaws, Pigs, and Unicycles}

Hello, dears!

I’m back with the second part of our adventures at the fair! After the girls saw the rodeo, we joined up with the boys and visited several other shows and attractions. Plus we got some food, because how is it a fair without food? 😉 Enjoy some shots of a chainsaw artist, a unicycle rider, racing pigs, and more!

Of Birthdays, Cake, and Lots of Yellow

Hello, dears!

My sister Megan recently had a birthday which involved cake, friends, a scavenger hunt, and TONS of yellow. It also involved me, the sister who took probably hundreds of pictures because it was so much fun to capture the joy and laughter, plus the pretty party decorations. 😛

If you like cake, yellow, or being happy, you will probably enjoy this post.
