Prairie Dogs & Rocky Hikes {Road Trip Travel Journal, Pt. 1}

Hello, my friends!

I’m so excited to start sharing some of the TONS of photos I took on our recent vacation. For years, my family has had the goal to visit at all the 48 contiguous United States, and now we can check that off the bucket list. This time we went through south/southwest states like Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Lousiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. We rented a motorhome and spent most of the time just driving, but we also made some super neat stops, like New Orleans, a foggy beach, gorgeous scenic overlooks and trails, the Silos at Waco, a random prairie dog town, and lots of other fun stuff.

I have waaaay too many photos to fit in one post, so I’m gonna make this into a series, okay? Today I’ll start with some Oklahoma photos. I loved how different the scenery looked there from where I live! We went on a beautiful hike and also stopped at the edge of the road to see buffalo, prairie dogs, and a Texas longhorn cow.

Alright, enough explaining what we did. Let me just show you!

Winter Playlist + Aesthetics 2021

Hello, my friends!

I’m writing my post in a motorhome today because we’re on vacation at the moment! I thought maybe I’d have time to sort through my trip pictures so far and post some, but nope, sadly I didn’t. Stay tuned for a travel journal post next week. Meanwhile, here’s a winter playlist for you guys! I know winter can be a rather sad or depressing season for a lot of people, so today I picked out a few encouraging songs I’ve been enjoying recently to share with you guys. I hope this music brightens your day, whether it’s icy or sunny outside where you live. 🙂 Get some earbuds or a speaker and here we go!

Stars & Snowflakes

Hello, my friends!

Today I have a somewhat incongruous collection of photos for you, hehe. I did a little more star photography the other night, and also got some macro snowflake pictures on one of our many recent snows! Instead of making two tiny posts, I decided to smush the photoshoots together for your enjoyment. 🙂 Have fun snow/stargazing!

Explore with Me 005 | Nature Collecting

Hello, my friends!

It’s been so long since I’ve done an “explore with me” post. Remember those? I started this series to motivate myself (and you!) to get outside, even when it’s not super appealing, like in winter. I take you guys with me on a walk around our farm, adding in a little twist or art/photography prompt that you can try where you live as well.

Today’s prompt is to bring a bag, tote, or other container along on your walk and collect things you find interesting. If you live in the city, it could be man-made bits and pieces – coins, old papers, a lost toy, etc. – but since I live in the country and have plenty of woods to roam through, I decided to collect some nature.

(Please note, of course, to take only what is allowed where you live! A park is not the best place to collect specimens of live plants, for instance. 😉 If you have a decent-sized yard, you can find interesting things just outside your house, on your own land.)

So, want to see what I found in the woods? Let’s go!

A Snowy Sunday Photoshoot

Hello, my friends!

Guess what? (I think you probably already have.) It finally snowed here! After not getting a decent snow at all last winter, I was delighted to wake up and to white outside. There’s just something so magical about the first snow day of the year, isn’t there?

Knowing me, you guys won’t be surprised that the main thing I did with the snow was photograph it. XD I did also enjoy eating snow cream and walking around our farm to see how different everything appeared.

Anyway, this post is about the photography part. Enjoy falling snowflakes, a happy dog, and generally a lot of white space. 🙂

The Bunnies Are Back {Extreme Cuteness Warning}

Hello, my friends!

As promised in my last post, I have a couple of new pets to introduce you to today! We recently got two sweet lionhead rabbits – one buck and one doe – that we’re going to breed. Ahh baby bunnies! I can’t wait! So anyway, I went out and took a bunch of pictures for you guys the other day, including photos of Basil and Lavender because they’re still cute too. 😉

I haven’t done a bunny post in ages, so I’m excited for this one! I hope you all enjoy. ❤

Hidden Treasures & Airplane Skies {a Golden Hour Walk}

Hello, my friends!

I have more golden hour pictures for you! While on a walk the other evening, I got in that photographing mood where I try and make pretty pictures out of the most random or unphotogenic things. It was great. 😀 So today I present you with a selection of dramatic thorns, color treasure hunts, airplane clouds, and candles in windows.

Want to go on a walk with me? Well yay! Let’s go.

A Small Collection of Recent Poetry

Hello, my friends!

I was looking through my blog archives and oh my goodness, has it really been two years since I did a poetry post like this?? Well it’s past time for another one, then! I’ve been storing up a collection of poetry in my notebook for such a time as this. 🙂

Today I have ten new poems for you guys, accompanied by pretty pictures. I hope you enjoy slowing down for a moment and reading something a bit more serious and thoughtful than usual. ❤

Another Dewy Photoshoot

Hello, my friends!

I’ve been saving this dewdrop photoshoot for several months, as you will see from the green-ness and flowers in this post. Since, of course, I’ve posted countless similar photoshoots (but I can’t help it!), I decided to edit these pictures a little differently. Although I took them all at the same time, I had fun editing some to look like they were taken at golden hour or even at night. You know me and my photo editing experiments, right? 😛

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this small dose of sunshine and growing things for a winter day!
