Double Exposure Portrait Photography

Hello friends!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you might remember my previous experiments with double-exposure photography here. Double exposure refers to the concept of taking two pictures and merging them. It’s often done for portraits especially, to tell a story or just add an artistic flare.

I’ve been meaning to try it again ever since the aforementioned post and I finally got around to making some more creative portraits. Enjoy some artistic (or maybe just weird) photography experimentation! 🙂

Golden Hour Spring Photoshoot + Q&A!

Hello friends!

I am super excited for this post: a breathtaking golden hour photoshoot plus a Q&A! I wandered the farm with my camera after I finished hay work a couple days ago and found So. Much. Beauty. The photos reminded me of a similar post I made before I got married.

Several of you guys have requested more marriage-themed posts or a Q&A, so I thought now would be a fitting time to collect questions from you guys. Sully and I will  answer them on our upcoming one-year anniversary on May 22. Enjoy some lush golden green and ask your questions in the comments!

A Visit to Aria’s {Ft. Ducklings!}

Hello friends!

Happy Good Friday and almost-Easter! I don’t have any deep Easter posts for you this year, just cute springy duckling pictures. Last week Sully and I finally got to visit Aria (my matron-of-honor at my wedding, remember?) and her husband Andrew. It was a 14 hour drive, thus why I hadn’t made it before on my own. But we had a grand adventure of car camping, “icecuum,” fuzzy baby birds, and a photoshoot. Enjoy this small travel journal!

Etcetera #22 {New Pets, Spring Bouquets, Aesthetic Candlesticks, Etc.}

Hello friends!

It’s time for another round-up of my miscellaneous photos. If you’re new to these posts, my etcetera collections are full of small moments and random photos I haven’t had a chance to post about – like a scrapbook of sorts. Some photos are pretty, some are funny, and all are ones I want to remember.

Enjoy a selection of adventures and lovely things from the past few months!

Woodland Treasures {A Forest Photoshoot}

Hello friends!

One of my favorite places to take my camera is into the woods. Even in winter there are so many beautiful things to discover, from the tiniest moss florets to the tallest tangled trees. I had so much fun photographing bits of beauty a few weeks ago and wanted to share some with you today.

Enjoy a pretty dose of natural wonders. ❤

A Collection of Mountain Landscapes

Hello friends!

I had too many beautiful landscape shots from our vacation to fit into the last post, so today I’m going to share them on their own. Mountain views and rolling hills are one of my favorite things. All this scenery made me so happy, ah.

A lot of the pictures are taken out of car windows as we drove around, a few are from hikes we went on, and each is beautiful in its own way. Enjoy!

A Trip to the Mountains {Adventures in Wytheville}

Hello friends!

Sully and I took a week-long vacation in the mountains this February. It was super relaxing and we had lots of fun mini-adventures I wanted to share with you guys. Read on for mountain overlooks, the most charming bookstore, mysterious stone buildings, hotel crafts, and possibly the smallest church and largest pencil you’ll ever see.

A Black Light Birthday Party

Hello friends!

My sister-in-law Sheridan recently turned 16 and had such a fun party to celebrate! I brought my camera along at her request and quite enjoyed getting black light pictures of the dancing and snacks and friends. Enjoy some of my favorite shots from the evening!

First Snow of the Season

Hello friends!

IT FINALLY SNOWED! I haven’t seen even a flurry all winter until yesterday morning, when I opened the curtains and yelled for Sully to come look. Neither of us were expecting a white world. Sadly it snowed only a little and stuck around even less, but I managed to capture a few shots before it all melted.

Enjoy some snowy goodness from my backyard!
