I am super excited for this post: a breathtaking golden hour photoshoot plus a Q&A! I wandered the farm with my camera after I finished hay work a couple days ago and found So. Much. Beauty. The photos reminded me of a similar post I made before I got married.
Several of you guys have requested more marriage-themed posts or a Q&A, so I thought now would be a fitting time to collect questions from you guys. Sully and I will answer them on our upcoming one-year anniversary on May 22. Enjoy some lush golden green and ask your questions in the comments!
This post was so fun to make! Sully came over and we sat on the couch, ate jellybeans, and took turns typing out our answers. Well, we collaborated on some until Sully wrote something weird and I was like WAIT WHAT I DO NOT APPROVE TAKE MY INITIAL OFF. :’D Ohhh, Sully. *shakes head*
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy reading our answers to your questions as much as we enjoyed answering them! Also it snowed six inches recently and I got a bunch of pretty pictures to include here. So yeah, I’m excited for this post! Let’s get started!
Did you have a good Thanksgiving? I did! So far we’ve had one out of four celebrations, and for the rest we’re going to our old farm for the weekend for fun times and delicious food with friends and family. 🙂
Anyway, back to the post. About a month ago I got the chance to visit my dear friend, Aria, and see her family’s lovely farm. We had a wonderful time together, and this time we made sure to take PLENTY of pictures. XD Aria suggested doing a BFF Q&A to go along with them, and I agreed it sounded fun. And here we are! Wow, it has been quite a while since I posted an episode of the Sister’s Q&A! Remember that? It’s like a normal Q&A, but Megan and I have to answer you guys’ questions for each other instead of for ourselves. It’s a lot of fun to write, and I hope it’s fun to read too!

What kind of pencils do you like to use best: regular number 2’s, or mechanical?
Guess: Well we don’t have many mechanical pencils, so number 2’s.
Answer: I would say regular pencils since that’s pretty much all I use, but mechanical pencils are okay too. Except I hate it when the pencil lead is too short and it disappears when you press down – argh! XD
Which do you like better: dogs or cats?
Guess: Cats.
Answer: Cats. I like dogs, but they’re not nearly as clean or cuddly as cats. 😉
When you want to look up a word’s definition, do you use a real dictionary, or do you look up the word on the computer?
Guess: Hmm… I don’t know what Allison would do. Maybe look it up on the computer. 😉
Answer: Hmm… I don’t know. I do both. It depends on where I am and what I have close by I guess. But maybe computer?
Do you use your WordPress Reader?
Guess: Yep!
Answer: Sure do! I try to read every post. (I only follow about 30 blogs, in case you were wondering. It would be really hard to read every post if I followed hundreds of blogs!)
Which would you prefer: swimming in a pool or playing in the snow?
Guess: Probably swimming.
Answer: Swimming! Snow is so much fun, but it’s also cold and kind of messy. Plus when it’s swimming time it’s also summer vacation!

What’s one thing you really want right now?
Guess: Hmm. I… don’t know! Maybe she’d like a lifetime supply of polymer clay?
Answer: I’m not sure… Um, more time so I can publish this post and play piano before I have to go to bed? XD
Least favorite meal?
Guess: Almost got it…. Some Mexican dish but I don’t remember what! Some sort of enchiladas?
Answer: Something with mushroom soup in it or most Mexican food (or any spicy food). XD Or maybe cabbage rolls with super spicy Spanish rice and grape soda. YUCK! No one would ever combine those things for a meal anyway, but oh well. Bleh. XD
What is a sport you’re really terrible at?
Guess: I don’t know, she doesn’t play sports often. So I’ll just go with hockey even though she’s never played it. I really have no clue. XD
Answer: Heh heh, I’m not too great at any sport (except I’m okay at Ping Pong if that counts XD ), but then again I don’t know that I’m horrible at a certain one. I’m not very good at tennis or badminton or something like that? I have no idea. XD
What’s something funny that happened to you recently?
Guess: Too hard. I pass. I really have no clue though.
Answer: Hmm. Ahh, why is this so hard? Okay, for lack of a better answer, I’m going to go with the time my siblings and I were discussing Keeper of the Lost Cities together, and Megan and Logan and I were discussing whether the cliffhanger at the end of Lodestar was huge or not that big. But my brother Jeff, who hasn’t finished the series yet, HATES spoilers, (even though we giving anything away at all), so he kept yelling, “Argh! Stop! Guys, don’t tell me ANYTHING!” And stuff like that. XD He was very adamant. 😛
If someone gave you a baby tiger, would you want to keep it?
Guess: Hmm, probably not.
Answer: Maybe. I might want to keep it for a little while until it got big, and then maybe take it to a zoo or something. But even assuming I would want to, I’m sure I wouldn’t actually keep it. 😉

What’s it like being a blogger AND your sister being a blogger?
Guess: Annoying at times.
Answer: Mostly fun because we can talk about our blogger friends and the posts we read and stuff together, but also annoying because sometimes we both want to post the same thing at the same time. 😛

Answer: Spring! Although I looove fall too, and summer is nice. XD Winter is nice in some ways, but it’s my least favorite of the seasons.

Guess: Six, I think.
Answer: 7? We didn’t use to swim very much except on vacations, but now we go to our neighbor’s pool a lot during summer.

Answer: Do bunnies count? Aw, shucks. Well then, I guess cows/calves because our chickens are rawther boring. 😉

Guess: Probably her purple dragon.
Answer: Ahh, that’s a hard one! Maybe this dragon? I also really like my gnome house (at the end of this post), the custom owl at the beginning of this post, and the custom dog figurines I’ve made for people.
If you could change your hair and eye color, what would you change it to?
Guess: Maybe blond hair and… blue eyes? Maybe?
Answer: I like my hair color just the way it is, although I might make it all as light as the end of it is. 🙂 If I could change my eye color, I’d change it to violet/indigo, but since that’s not common at all, I’d probably change it to blue.

Guess: Hmm. I don’t know what she’d want. Maybe a really cute nice rabbit? XD Or some exotic animal like a fawn (okay, not exotic, but out of the ordinary) or a panda. 😛
Answer: Maybe a cute wittle hedgehog – if it was tame!
Of what color are most of your clothes?
Guess: Light pink and white.
Answer: You know, it’s funny. It seems like every year I accidentally get clothes of mostly one color or style, though it changes from year to year. XD Right now I actually have pretty varied colors, but mainly blue, white, and pink, and of those: pink.
Do you expect to go to college? For what?
Guess: I don’t think so…
Answer: Right now I’m thinking I might just take a few classes (maybe Business and/or Art), but I doubt I’ll do the whole thing because it’s just so expensive, especially if you end up not using the things you learned! That’s why I might pick just a few specific classes that I think I will use later in life.
Do you write in a diary?
Guess: Nope.
Answer: Nope, unless my blog counts!
Do you like swimming laps or playing a game in the pool more?
Guess: Probably playing a game, but she also likes floating on our huge inner tube! 😛

Guess: No, not really.
Answer: Not really, although I don’t clean up every single thing I get out right away. But generally I’m pretty tidy. 😀
When you go to sleep at night, do you try your very best to keep the bed all neat and nice?
Guess: Not necessarily, no.
Answer: Well I don’t really try one way or another, but yeah, I suppose so. I don’t like having to remake the entire bed.

Phew, it’s been awhile since I posted one of these, but here it is! The last part of Q & A. (See the other parts here.) In case you’d forgotten, I did this Q&A post in celebration of the 100 followers milestone! Whoop whoop! Oh wait – now I have 116 followers. WHOOP WHOOP!! Thank you guys so much! You all asked so many lovely questions that I had to divide the answers into several parts. 😀 And… this is the last! (I’m going to add a few bonus Q & A’s of my own at the end. 😉 )
There is a grizzly bear running towards you, but your life long friend is hanging from a 100 foot cliff. What do you do? Let’s see. If the bear was running really fast, I would run straight toward the cliff, whip around at the last second so he would run over the edge, fly back to rescue my friend, and go home in triumph. Ha ha. No. I have a sneaking suspicion that I would be considerably less courageous than that. XD 😉 I would probably just scream and pray.
Would you rather live in the time of the Great Depression or World War II? Hm… maybe the Great Depression. I don’t think I could survive living through a war like WW2. I’m reading Rilla of Ingleside (it’s really good, by the way!) which is set in the time of World War 1, and it really made me think about how horrible it would have been to live through a World War. You were always waiting breathlessly for the news, and the news often turned out to be terrifying. Every hour of the day would be filled with worry and suspense. And then if your brother or husband or sweetheart went to war, how terrible that would be to wonder if he would ever return? It makes me so, so thankful that we are not at war.
What magical power would you want to possess most? I would like to FLY! The age old dream, my friends. 😉 Although it would be so fun to have the skills to make anything I imagined!
Would you rather be the most famous or the richest person in the world? Probably neither. 🙂 But… hmm… maybe the richest? I could do all sorts of things with my money, including helping other people. If I was famous, I would only be, well, famous, and I’ll bet it would get annoying to have fans everywhere trying to get my autograph. XD XD 😀
What would be your death wish? Definitely that I would soon be in Heaven. 🙂
Do you have any siblings? If so, how many? Yep! I have four siblings. This is a list of the kids in our family from oldest to youngest. Me ( 😉 ), Logan (my oldest sibling and brother), Jefferson (my other brother whom we always call Jeff), Megan (my sister who also has a blog), and Carmen (my youngest sister and sibling.)
Do you like pineapples? YES! I love pretty much any and all fruit, although apples and bananas aren’t my favorite because they’re pretty normal.
Favorite season? SPRING! I love spring, when the trees are iced with fluffy blossoms, the grass is getting greener, and new life is popping up all around me! Not to mention that my birthday’s in May. 🙂
Favorite thing to photograph? Little things. Close-up photography is definitely my style. I love capturing the little things in life that we don’t normally notice, and bringing their beauty into the light. It’s like I discover a whole new world when I zoom in my camera lens!
What was your first pet? The first pet that actually belonged to me was Honeybunny, my first rabbit. I posted about her surprisingly few times, poor thing. (Although this post has a few pictures of her in it.) You can see more pictures of her by typing “Honeybunny” in my blog’s search bar.
How long has your family had bunnies for, and who was the first bunny to enter your household? **Edited to add** Oops! My sister reminded me that we actually had a (not so nice) bunny named Nibbles in 2011. He met with a tragic end when a cat got into his cage and ate off his head. 😦 XD XD It was so sad then, but now it’s just hilarious! XD We’ve had bunnies since August 2014. It’s amazing how much my blog has grown since then – if I published a post like that now and got no comments, I would probably faint or else be seriously concerned that you guys weren’t alive. Welcome back for “Q & A with Allison: Part 2!” 😀 As most of you know, I am doing this little question and answer thingy in celebration of the fact that I now have 100 followers!! (Oh, oops – 106 now. YIPPEE! 😀 ) See the first part of Q & A here.
1. What’s your favorite thing about living on a farm? Ooh, that’s a good one! Let me do three of my favorite things about living on a farm: I love the nature, the space, and watching the crops grow.
2. Where’s your favorite place? Well, I don’t know if it’s my absolute favorite, but one place I really like is on our farm. We call it Crystal Pond, not because the water is crystal clear (it’s actually kinda muddy), but because there are lots of beautiful crystal quartz rocks scattered on the shore. I like it because there are some of my favorite kinds of nature there – moss, mushrooms, pretty rocks, and water. 🙂 It’s also neat how the pond is kind of sealed off from the rest of the world by a ring of trees and brush. You can see a post I made about it here.
What’s the name of the last unicorn you met? Okay. This might disappoint you but… the last unicorn I met wasn’t a live unicorn. I know. It’s a shocker, right? Okay, maybe it wasn’t so much of a shocker… XD The last unicorn I met is named Alice. You can see some pictures of Alice right here on my Etsy shop.
What’s your favorite book? Umm… how about a few of my favorites. 😀 A lot of my favorite books are actually series. I love the Narnia series, the Anne of Green Gables series, the Penderwick series, the Little House series, and of course a lot of other books. 🙂
What’s your favorite post you’ve written? Help! This is hard! Umm… in this post, I showed you a few of my favorite photography posts. But some other posts I really like are this weird and wacky eggs post because it showed a part of farm life that not everyone knows about, this WordCrafters post because it was SO fun to do WordCrafters with you all (Thanks, Josie, for helping! We’ll probably do it again in May), this gnome story post because it’s funny and it was fun to make, this snow pictures post because I’m still rather proud of that last picture (XD), and this rose photoshoot post because I’m also still proud of those pictures. Heh heh. That was a few more than my one favorite post, but I just couldn’t choose! XD
Why did you start your blog? Misty asked this question in the last part, and the short answer is, “Because my sister had one and it looked like fun.” 😛
If you are allowed to, do you watch anime? We don’t really watch TV except for the Olympics (which I LOVE by the way) and political debates, although we do watch movies pretty often. So the short answer is no, not really. 😀
Do you know of any Griffins without a name? 🙂 Uhh… I can’t say that I do because I’m not exactly sure what this question means… 😀 XD
Have you been to Disney world? Nope. And I’m okay with that. 🙂
Would you rather go to England or Paris? Hmm… this is a hard one! It would be fun to see some pretty England countryside, so maybe England.
How many fairy friends do you have? Uhh…? The only fairies in my acquaintance are Belle, Lily, and Scarlett. So three, I suppose. 🙂
Regular potatoes or sweet potatoes? Ooh! I love both. Maybe regular potatoes though, because they can be prepared in so many delicious ways.
Mango or Pineapple? YUMMM! I LOVE FRUIT! Ahem. I love both, but I choose mangoes because we have those less often, and they are simply delicious. 😀
How many followers did you have when you started your blog? Well when I just started I had zero of course, but in the first month or so I only had 1 or 2 followers I think – my sister Megan and my grandparents. Thank you guys! ♥ And thank you all my lovely followers. 🙂
Favorite book genre? I mainly like fantasy fiction (not dark fantasy fiction, though), historical fiction, and everyday adventures fiction – stories like the Penderwicks and Anne of Green Gables which don’t necessarily have a plot, but are more like well-done, interesting fictional accounts of the lives of the characters. I also like biographies, which is probably why I like reading about the lives of fictional characters too.

How many times have you hugged a tree? XD Hee hee! I can’t say as I know the exact answer to your question, Genna. XD I’ve certainly leaned on trees a lot of times, but I don’t know how many times I’ve hugged them. I remember one particular time that I did hug a tree – when we went on a trip and saw sequoias and redwoods. Our whole family made a circle and hugged a tree, but we couldn’t reach around it!

When did you get Willow and when did you get Lily? (She IS yours…isn’t she?) I got Willow in August 2015 (click on the links to see pictures of Willow then and now-ish (she’s the one with fluffy fur)), and Lily in May 2015 (Look how tiny she was: then and now! The “now” link will take you to a post by my sister with a picture of a very large Lily. XD). Yep, they are both my bunnies. ♥
Have you ever kissed a frog? (I seriously did this once when I was like 5!!) Hee hee! That’s hilarious! No, I don’t remember kissing a frog, although it’s possible that I did.
What’s your favorite land animal (s)? How about sea animal? Some of my favorite land animals are bunnies, hedgehogs, and giraffes. Some of my favorite sea animals are whales, dolphins, and starfish.
Do you have a favorite sport? Eh… I don’t really play sports or watch them, so not really. Although I do love swimming, and I love watching gymnastics and swimming in the Olympics.

Are you sick of questions yet? Well, yes and no. They are great fun to answer, but if I work on them for too long I get kind of tired of them. (Mostly because of how long it takes to add all of my links. XD) But I love your questions, guys, and I’m so glad I did this!
Do you like to eat Ice cream? It depends on the flavor. I don’t dislike any kind of ice cream necessarily, it’s just that some flavors, are just – eh… okay. But certain kinds of ice/sherbet/frozen yogurt I do love to eat, yes!
Now presenting the first part of “Q & A with Allison!” You guys asked so many fun and lovely questions that I had to divide the Q & A post into several parts! If you reach down into the far depths of your memory, you might recall that I am doing this question and answer post to celebrate the fact that I have 100 FOLLOWERS! (Oh, yay! 101 now. XD ) If you would still like to ask me questions, feel free to comment on this post, and I will add them in to a later part. I’m going to answer the questions in oldest-to-newest order.
Why did you start blogging?I’m pretty sure I started this blog because my sister Megan was doing one as part of her school program and it looked like fun.
What is your favorite food? Just ONE favorite? I’m sorry but that’s too hard. XD I’ll tell you a few of my favorite foods: crab legs, spinach, chocolate, pretty much any and all fruit, and cheese. Especially BabyBel cheeses! The list could go on and on, but I’ll stop making you hungry. 🙂
Pens or pencils? Hmmm. It depends on what I’m doing. Pencils are probably the wisest choice for math, and they are great for sketching or drawing detailed pictures, but I love how smoothly gel and ballpoint pens write. I usually use a gel pen for Latin and Science – it makes the work more fun. 🙂
What’s your dream career? I’m already doing one of my dream jobs! My dream job is selling things I make, and I’m doing that right now with my Etsy shop. (I know, that was about my 1,000th link to my Etsy shop. Sorry!) It’s extremely fun to make stuff that people will actually buy and use!
Favorite ice cream flavor? I like Rocky Road and Black Raspberry (and others).
Tea or coffee? I like the smell of coffee better, but the taste of tea better. (Although it depends on the flavor of the tea.)
Would you rather eat gelato or ice cream? Hmm. This is a hard one! We had raspberry sherbet once (sherbet is kind of like gelato, right?) and it was delicious. So I might choose that over raspberry ice cream because the sherbet was much more flavorful and fruity.
Why do you like to eat doughnuts better than excavators? Do you mean why do I like to eat doughnuts more than I like to eat excavators? Then the answer is, “I’d much rather eat excavators than doughnuts, of course.” XD This was a (just slightly) odd question, my dear sister, so it called for a slightly odd answer. XD
Would you rather meet Anne at Green Gables or Mary Lennox in her Secret Garden? I would like Anne better as a friend, and it would be amazing to go to Green Gables, but it also be neat to see Mary’s beautiful Secret Garden. (When it was in bloom, of course.) So maybe Anne in the Secret Garden?
A pet unicorn or a pet pushmi-pullu? If it was a rainbow unicorn, probably a unicorn. 🙂
What are your favorite board games? Umm… Monopoly, Sorry, Checkers, and Chess are pretty much the only board games that come to mind, and I like those all pretty well. When we play games as a family, we often play card games or party-game type games, but right now my siblings (even my littlest sister) are really into Chess.
Do you like to listen to a lot of music? What genre? I do like music, but I don’t listen to it nearly as much as some of my siblings do. 😀 As for the genre, probably CCM. I really like TobyMac’s songs especially. We went to a TobyMac concert once and he was great!
What is a unique blogging tip you have? Okay, here are two tips:
Make your blog format inviting – Your blog’s format makes a huge difference in the initial presentation. If the format clear, easy to get around, and pleasing to look at, readers will enjoy coming to your blog much more than if the format is confusing, hard to get around, or boring.
Find your style – Find your own unique style of writing and/or photography. Your style helps you shine through your blog. A blog post is also more fun to read if you add something besides, “Here are some pictures. ***Allison***.” (Actually, that’s pretty much what I did in my first ever post! XD XD ) Tell the story behind a picture, add funny captions to it… stuff like that will make it more interesting and will draw the reader in. Sometimes, even if I’m not necessarily interested in what a post is about, I still enjoy reading it because I like the bloggers writing/photography style. 🙂
What is your favorite color? Practically my whole life I have loved the color purple. 😀
Have you ever moved? I have moved once in my life, when I was one year old – and it was only to the house across our lane! XD XD I am really glad for that though – I wouldn’t want to move out of our house or off of our farm. My dad lived in the house we live in now for his whole life except for a couple years in that house across the lane.
Do you play any instruments? Yes, I have been playing piano for… I think 6 years.

Do you follow politics at all? Yep. My dad is pretty interested in politics, and we’ve been watching the debates lately. (Although I don’t always watch the whole thing.) It’s funny but rather sad how the candidates fight it out on stage. You’ll have to wait for another part to read which candidate I like the best!
What’s your favorite food that’s not dessert? Sorry about this, CutePolarBear! The first people already asked a lot of your questions. 😀 See my answer to Misty’s second question – minus the chocolate part.
